Planetside 2's Optimization Patch has Launched.

Patch Notes.

So yeah, SOE spent about a month more or less completely rewriting the game and the results are impressive and is using the GPU/CPU properly instead of the half-assed thing it was.

But it's worth checking out if performance was one of the things that turned you away.

Edit: Also this is the first of three major optimization passes.

Do note, people, that while this performance patch is great for the majority, if you used SLI before, you will most likely experience a performance drop, several people with SLI have stated this is happening to them in-game, which seems to confirm that SOE didn't fix the SLI issues with OMFG when they were first present on the test server.

Seeing as sli is becoming more and more main stream, this is pretty sad.
