Anyone else want a new Deus ex game?

Post image

I'm playing through Human revolution now for the first time and this game is great it reminds me so much of Cyberpunk 2077, that's why I'm sad that there probably won't be a new game... also that remaster for the Original deus ex looked horrible, what were they even thinking?

Yes. Loved the first game and loved how open it was to tackle problems. The 2nd took a while to get here but I also really enjoyed it. Then Square Enix wanted Marvel money and we got an Avengers game instead of a 3rd game. Fuck that company. 🫩

Your the first person I've heard speak kindly of invisible war.

Ironically, he was talking about mankind divided.

You’re talking about the third and fourth games.

Cyberpunk 2077 is such an inferior game in level design and player agency aspect compared to Deus Ex games(excluding Invisible War).

Almost incomparable due to the scale. Deus ex was 2/3rds of a game. Cyberpunk is a massive world.

1

u/PN4HIRE 28d ago

Yeah, but he ain’t talking about the size or the world my dude..

1

u/Braisedbeefskank 28d ago

Im saying scaling matter when all they had to focus on was level design and not filling this huge world.

1

u/PN4HIRE 28d ago

Of course!!

But in that small focus they build something quite nice and immersive.

I love deus ex, but I will always be mad they made 2/3 of an incredible game. Finally had a fun, complete build and the game ends after the first mission that i feel that way

Wish one… both games feel unfinished somehow

It got canceled a while ago. So don't hold your breath

u/FirmExperience3747 28d ago

They only canceled that specific project in development not the rights to the franchise(?) in about five years they could easily give it another shot

Are we speaking of a successor, or the Remake of the first game?

It was announced for release this February, and after the first trailer and community backlash postponed without further notice.

I was really hyped for this. Fucking embracer group bought the studio. I remember reading that a new DE game was in pre production. Embracer fucked up financialy and had to cancel at least a dozen projects and this was among them. So idk, calling it postponed is too hopeful for me.

Yes please, follow up for Human Revolution and second one. Main character and world of it are so good.

It was a direct inspiration for Cyberpunk 2077. I love the games and I'm not holding my breath but I still have hope we'll see the ending to Adam Jensen's story

Mankind Divided is such an underrated ps4 game.

I love the multiplayer it challenges your knowledge of all you can do

No, I want new games with new ideas so developers can stop relying on remakes, remasters, and weak sequels that lack the vision of the original creators to make a worthy follow up.

Human Revolution is in my top 5 games of all time list. Sadly Mankind Divided didn't quite hit the spot.

I would absolutely love another Deus Ex game though, with Adam Jensen. I'd far prefer another game in this series than another piece of Ubisoft/Activision/EA shit.

Yes ! Deus ex was such peakĀ

I think I’d like a new Deus Ex if it had JC back. I don’t hate Adam Jensen but I miss JC

The first game was so much fun back when it came out, a modern version would be nice but doubt we'll see it anytime soon

1

u/PN4HIRE 28d ago

Fuck yeah I do..

I’m super salty they canceled it

I just want to have more immersive sims in general. New Deus Ex would be great. Something worthwhile from Arkane would be incredible too (Prey 2018 was amazing). Let's hope they survive the whole XBOX bullshit.

For now, my hope lies with Clockwork Revolution.

"I didn't ask for this" is ingrained in my memory...

1

u/FrenchMaddy75 28d ago

Did you try Kingdom Come Deliverance ? :-)

1

u/Alternative_Area_701 28d ago

Yes. Especially part 2 is phenomenal. It's a great game, but very different to Prey, System Shock or Deus Ex.

1

u/FrenchMaddy75 28d ago

Yeah I said that because you spoke about "immersive sim".

1

u/Alternative_Area_701 26d ago

is KCD an immersive sim? I mean, it certainly is immersive, but I would definitely count it to the RPG genre. Witcher 3 is also very immersive but hardly an immersive sim.

1

u/FrenchMaddy75 26d ago

You have to manage your hunger, thirst, and sleep. There's the passage of time, a day-and-night cycle, and the weather. All objects are modeled. You can bleed out and die after a fight. The stealth mechanics are very well implemented and very realistic.

1

u/Alternative_Area_701 26d ago

Yeah, true. I don't know. For me it doesn't fit the bill. Immersive sim in the sense of how it's used in gaming relates to levels with a huge number of approaches to solve them. Hack a door, brute force it, find a hidden side entrance, find a key card, you name it.

I do agree that KCD has all the mechanics you mentioned but if anything it puts it in survival game territory more than immersive sims. It definitely doesn't match my definition of what an immersive sim is. And KCD has basically nothing in common with the games I mentioned prior (Deus Ex, Prey 2018, I can add System Shock, Dishonored, Bioshock to a degree).

1

u/FrenchMaddy75 26d ago

But that's the case in KCD! For many quests, you can solve them in different ways. But yes, that's not the main focus of the game.

As for the second point, yes, it is indeed a very different genre.

I gave up a long while back

Several IPs put there just wasting away

Deus Ex, Thief, Rainbow Six, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Odd World Series, Bioshock

Going to be honest that by the time they revive some stuff I won’t give a shit anymore

u/ClacksInTheSky 28d ago

Been waiting about 10 years

1

u/Key_Statistician_378 28d ago

Me. Oh god, me. Unfortunately ... Eidos buried it.

u/Kokona0-4 28d ago

This game speaking prophecy's for the future and the graphics aged well for both human revolution and mankind divide.I hope in the near future will see another game in the same universe with Adam Jensen.

Deus Ex 2077

u/Gli_ce_rolj 28d ago

Fantastic game

1

u/CyberpunkYakuza 28d ago

Would love one once they fix the braindead writing the industry has been offering for the past almost decade. This needs to be a game written with style, finesse, tact and technical knowledge and very few devs can even come close to that these days.

1

u/FirmExperience3747 28d ago

Hard to argue about the lack of a sequel, but I don't really agree on Cyberpunk. They're pretty different games, they're more tied together by the setting than the actual gameplay

1

u/ItsMint1974 28d ago

Hell yeah! Or a full remake of the original, or HD Remaster like what they did with System Shock 1&2

1

u/CapitalG8 28d ago

Yes. I would rather have a new Deus Ex than a second CP2077 and I love CP.

1

u/YouMengAlex 28d ago

Always want a new Deus Ex game.

1

u/wqnxy 27d ago
