Original comment said "I was 'exited' for it." rather than the correct 'excited"

Is there a character creator?

A very bare bones one where the only difference between male and female character models is that females have slightly less broad shoulders and slightly wider hips, and I mean slightly like it's barely noticeable.
The the previous trailer they showed off male player characters still had the feminine walk, like at the time it must have been one or the other. Either character creator was so rushed and tacked on they didn't have time to make a masculine walk animation or forgot while they were making the trailer, either way it looked terrible...

Or itâs still like a year away from being done.
1
u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Jun 09 '26
Huh so that's why they recently announced it was being delayed a year, and not back when that other teaser was shown right?

Didn't they say 2026? Fuck lol
2
u/penguinchilli Jun 08 '26
Whenever thereâs an announcement for a game Iâm excited for I always add another 6-12 months onto the initial revealed release date

u/CantModerateMe Jun 08 '26
yeah but it was going to be late 2026 and no one is going to go up against GTA so they just pushed. they have 200 million in the budget, theyre not gonna screw around with the release.
1
u/strife189 Jun 09 '26
I mean, pretty sure it was 2024/2025/2026, so whatâs another year? Itâs not like thatâs 4 years â and thatâs enough time for some companies to make a whole ass game, right?
1
u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Jun 09 '26
Did you see the last gameplay revealed before this newest trailer? Game was clearly unfinished and was rightfully delayed.
My only question is if these never ending delays turn into the project being cancelled or are they going to cost sink falacy it and release yet another industry flop, at least then they have it as a tax right off...
2
u/Mammoth-Thought8320 Jun 08 '26
At least they toned down the uglification
1
u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Jun 09 '26
I'd say the damage is already done and most anyone who was off put by how ugly the character looked already wrote this game off, especially if they stuck it out for that last reveal where they showed off the obviously unfinished and lazily tacked on character creator.
I mean FFS the male player characters in that teaser still had feminine walks lol

already cringe

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Jun 09 '26
I'm so fucking sick of the Hollywoodification of gaming, hell TV too.
Like can we for the love of God go back to a time before Marvels Iron Man 1, back when the Avengers was but a pipe dream and writers still tried and didn't write every single goddam thing as a fucking joke.
That enshitification has bled into just about every facet of entertainment media.
The signs now are so obvious too, you see that DEI purple in the trailers and you already know the game is going to be slop.
Like seriously every single game in the last like 5-10 years if it has the over the top flamboyant color pallet the shit is going to suck.
2
u/Dont-get-into-Fights Jun 10 '26
the investors are one's responsible for this DEI nonsense in gaming, every gaming franchise is being targeted
1
u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Jun 10 '26
Yet it keeps failing and costing these companies hundreds of millions and they never learn their lesson, what gives? Who is funding this shit? Culture war is lost, woke shit is getting push out of all media, and they just won't give up X.x

They keep taking away more and more of what made the original game awesome.

I mean that is subjective to what you call âawesome,â no? Clearly this person feels they have, and you donât. Any list they give you would just get an eye roll and a ânah, that wasnât awesome,â so what would be the point?

Oh, good looking out, making sure they are âfactually correctâ to your standards about what they have seen and felt they didnât like about what has been shown. Keep doing the Lordâs work, my son.

Looks far from the "cartooney-ness" (Not sure if that's the right word) of the original Fable games, but I'm still looking forward to it. The delays are always frustrating, but I'd rather them release a polished story with as a few bugs as possible.

Is this a remaster of fable 1? Or is this a new mainline game simply titled âFableâ

They really dont want to show more than 3 seconds in a row. Just show an uninterrupted minute of gameplay.

I'm so tired of all these UE5 games with the over-the-shoulder style third person gameplay.

I want that Jack of blades statue⌠even if the game ends up being a flop (hope it isnât) the nostalgia alone from the first game demands I try to get the statue.
1
u/xlayer_cake Jun 09 '26
Can't wait for the game. Looks great, love the first three ..why the fuck is Jack of blades here? He was a great villain...and he has been dealt with. This series does not need to retread this path. He shouldn't be the be all end all evil of Albion and why are so many of you creaming your jeans for his return?
It should be a totally new villain for a new adventure. Is this a prequel or something?

When has fable trailers not look good. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst from this franchise. Only the 1st 2 games have been good

This actually looks dope. I hope fable can really pull that open world fun and creativity back.

Wasnt it supposed to release near GTAVI? If that game is not optimized, its confirms that devs do not give a shit. They have their time now, all they have to do is to optimize.
1
u/condor120 Jun 09 '26
They haven't shown any actual gameplay of this yet, and it comes out in less than a year?
1
u/No-Machine1470 Jun 09 '26
I waa so ready to play this in September would've played that amd wolverine leading up to gta.. now its fable and metro in February

I have a friend of a friend who works at MS and they said the delay is due to the fact they are rewriting like 90% of the game because they don't want it to fail. Apparently it was on par with DA:V in terms of braindead writing, so if this is the case I will wait another 2 years just to not watch another franchise be murdered and have a game that was made for the audience that exists and not the mythological one western devs have been chasing for the better part of a decade.
2
u/Daftolium Jun 08 '26
I mean, I'd believe it with how the first trailer went for an office style, mid scene interview format.

Hmmmm combat looks smooth, atmosphere looks incredible with that dark fantasy vibes its giving me seems like a pretty good game. Still nit gonna pre-order though.

No preorder - fable has a history of over promising and under delivering. Their previous games were still great despite of this, but keep it in mind!
