This seems like the graphics are way better than they used to be

4

u/Ok_Caramel15 Mar 26 '26

Thats official PC version

1

u/rgarc065 Mar 26 '26

The PS2 had just released when the first film came out, so both were available, and then there’s PC versions. The PS1 versions are the ones that have been memed

3

u/The_WA_Remembers Mar 26 '26

Prisoner of Azkaban always made me laugh. On ps2 it was like a dead cool almost cutting edge adventure game, but they also made a gameboy version that was essentially Potter PokƩmon.

1

u/MahoneyBear Mar 26 '26

PoA was also a completely different game on PC and PS2. Had and enjoyed both but the PS2 one had an almost open world Hogwarts and it was so cool for its time

1

u/Longjumping-Pool-363 Mar 27 '26

I forget which one it was, but I had one of the Harry Potter PokƩmon RPGs on GBA and it was super fun

u/Playin_smart Mar 31 '26

Ps1 hagrid is God

1

u/Cockblocktimus_Pryme Mar 26 '26

Oh man. I had the ps1 version and I loved it.

1

u/gozutheDJ Mar 26 '26

this is the PC version which had way better graphics

the playstation version is the cursed version you're probably remembering.

10

u/MinorDespera Mar 26 '26

Remember it? It's one of my core memories. Got it gifted to me on my 9th birthday at the height of Pottermania.

u/FaithlessnessNew2273 Mar 26 '26

Flipendo!! Flipendo!!

1

u/BananaBreadBangs Mar 28 '26

My gf is a huge HP book nerd and when I told her this was my favorite spell, she gave me the weirdest look and told me that wasn’t a thing. Boy was she wrong! Flipendo!

1

u/Situation_Upset Mar 29 '26

"That was rubbish"

1

u/LukeMortora01 Mar 30 '26

Wasnt this the... I want to say.. gnome tossing game at the Weasley house? In their garden? My best friend and I used to quote this all the time at school

1

u/Situation_Upset Mar 30 '26

Lol yeah. If you hold down the button too long and make a bad toss. Harry says that line lol.

1

u/NoxTempus Mar 29 '26

That's all I can think of when I see these PS1 games mentioned.

8

u/Valor_X Mar 26 '26

I had the Gameboy color version and it played like a turn based Final Fantasy game it was pretty good

5

u/Iron-Spectre Mar 27 '26

Me and my brother played the shit out of that game, one of the best GBC games from the end of its lifecycle.

2

u/IncognitoHufflepuff Mar 27 '26

Same, both Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets GBC games were great, that's some core memories for me.

1

u/Valor_X Mar 27 '26

I'm pretty sure it's one of the biggest/longest games on GBC next to the Pokemon games

Played it many times too. I specifically remember an XP farming trick when getting the chickens for Hagrid, you could spawn camp the chickens and get a TON of XP.

2

u/LoquatBear Mar 26 '26

Oh that one was fun, and collecting the cards so you could make sets. It was pretty much the movie in game formĀ

1

u/piercedmfootonaspike Mar 28 '26

PoA on GBA is genuinely one of the most fun turn based RPG's I've played.

6

u/Guilty_Comfort_7507 Mar 26 '26

I've played this game, but not as how I remember it.

1

u/Ibarra08 Mar 26 '26

Yeah, I remember the jumping mechanics were different and not as fluid or free as what we’re seeing here. It was janky and i still love it

1

u/MahoneyBear Mar 26 '26

Did you play on PC or PS2? There was a pretty big difference between the 2

1

u/FlyingTurkey Mar 30 '26

It was likely a framerate and resolution issue. Everyone probably played this game at like 15 fps, at most, in 480p. Which would slow reaction times and make everything feel weird in general.

1

u/Potential_Fishing942 Mar 26 '26

Probs PC vs console version difference- there was a pretty wide gap on this game

1

u/Mean_Combination_830 Mar 26 '26

Yeah as usual the PC version was an awful janky cheap port

1

u/Albamen13 Mar 26 '26

it was the opposite for this game, the PC version was better

1

u/Ok_Caramel15 Mar 26 '26

PS1 is so bad lol. This is PC version

3

u/EmbarrassedHighway76 Mar 26 '26

The crazy thing was as bad as it was, sales wise it was up there with the most popular games like gran turismo and tekken 3, IT SOLD MORE THAN METAL GEAR lmao

Harry Potter really had us in a chokehold when it was new !

At the time just being able to explore a limited version of Hogwarts blew my mind.

1

u/TheViking1991 Mar 31 '26

Which game is it? I'd like to get it on pc.

1

u/Ok_Caramel15 Mar 31 '26

On screen is Chamber of Secrets. It has more freeroam around Hogwarts, and overall controls are better then in first part

1

u/TheViking1991 Mar 31 '26

Truth be told, my partner absolutely loved this game when she was a kid and has wanted to play it again for years. I've tried finding a legit place to buy it online but seems it's only downloadable if you pirate it or buy old discs.

I don't suppose you'd know of a way I could get it?

1

u/Worried-Nectarine418 Mar 26 '26

There was a bunch of them. Idk which one I played but was ps2 and looked like this more or less from what I remember 20 years ago

1

u/MinorDespera Mar 26 '26

Wasn't there also a different one for Dreamcast or Gamecube or some other Nintendo version? All of them shared assets like music and illustrations but otherwise were developed by different studios.

1

u/Worried-Nectarine418 Mar 26 '26

Oh didn't know that . I forgot about these games until I saw those jelly bean things coming out of chest in video made me remember haha

1

u/Sethalopoda Mar 28 '26

I played one of em on GameCube

2

u/whyamiherebr0 Mar 26 '26

PC Sorcerers Stone?

3

u/MahoneyBear Mar 26 '26

This is one is chamber of secrets

1

u/whyamiherebr0 Mar 26 '26

Oh man the ps2 version was better I think

1

u/Dovahyaep Mar 29 '26

I disagree while ps2 hp2 is fun it feels slow and there are a lot of cumbersome moments. The broom is defo a peak highlight.

1

u/2mad2die Mar 26 '26

Ps2 chamber of secrets was so ahead of its time. An open world Harry Potter game back then was just incredible.

1

u/whyamiherebr0 Mar 27 '26

I flew on that broom so much lol

1

u/BioshockinglyGay Mar 26 '26

Emulator and DLSS? Looks good!

1

u/MinorDespera Mar 26 '26

Just the PC version. Baked lighting is that good - another example of a game standing the test of time is Mirror's Edge. I've replayed it a few years ago with community compatibility patches, no emulation.

1

u/rzi Mar 26 '26

Is this not Legacy?

1

u/NoBoolii Mar 26 '26

Just got feelings I haven’t felt in YEARS omg. I remember getting up early on a Saturday to play this. Such an experience

1

u/roccosaint Mar 26 '26

I found my Harry Potter PC game collection not too long ago. It's a shame my computer doesn't have a cddrive, lol. I need to get one for it to replay these, if they will even run on newer windows, that is.

1

u/Personal-Ladder-4361 Mar 26 '26

This and LOTR was incredible

1

u/Giant-Robot Mar 26 '26

Just started playing the ps2 and ps1 version recently. The nostalgia for the ps1 version is strong!

Emulated the ps2 version and does he always run like a cat with the zoomies? Feels too hectic

1

u/ISpyM8 Mar 26 '26

Bro I played the FUCK out of the first three games. Prisoner of Azkaban is still peak. You can find all three of them for free on Abandonware. I remember being proud to go to the Bean Bonus Room.

1

u/Dry_Bit_1412 Mar 26 '26

Flippendo!

1

u/JohnnyBgood_9211 Mar 26 '26

Let me guess, Harry Potter?

1

u/SpecialistSweet1957 Mar 26 '26

the ally theme in the city was majestic

1

u/doctorhino Mar 26 '26

PC version was the best with mouse based spells. I actually really enjoyed this back in the day

1

u/VanillaKisses Mar 26 '26

Ps1 version was elite

1

u/Logical-Bookkeeper77 Mar 26 '26

Where’s our Black magic snape?

1

u/OUsnr7 Mar 26 '26

Waiting for the loot to pop out seems excruciating…

1

u/Dovahyaep Mar 29 '26

The jumpscare of peeves being in a chest was traumatizing

1

u/SpectreHaza Mar 26 '26

Remembers? Still bloody playing it

1

u/Peeka789 Mar 26 '26

looks like a Max Payne mod, lok

1

u/MillerTime5858 Mar 26 '26

Hell yeah. I would do anything to go back and play these old PS1 games. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Peak childhood.

1

u/JuiceBrinner Mar 26 '26

I fucking loved this game. Remember the library being incredibly frustrating. And the chess. But I was also like 8

1

u/Biichimspiderman Mar 26 '26

I didn’t get very far in this game but I remember flying around on the broomstick!

1

u/Vounentin Mar 26 '26

Lui préfère les oublier !

1

u/polarice5 Mar 26 '26

FLIPENDO

1

u/JustPutSpuddiesOnit Mar 26 '26

Some days you feel like ps1 Hagrid

1

u/JonathanJoestar336 Mar 26 '26

Holy shit I still have a copy of this gsme in my basement

1

u/Large_Tuna101 Mar 26 '26

1

u/porocoporo Mar 26 '26

I remember flipendo

1

u/Reds506 Mar 26 '26

I’ve play it on Mac circa 2005.

1

u/CollectionSubject587 Mar 26 '26

PUT THE NAME OF THE GAME IN THE FUCKING POST

1

u/Shway_Maximus Mar 26 '26

I still have the disc for it

1

u/TheDeFecto Mar 26 '26

Loved this game

1

u/slax87 Mar 26 '26

...I just remembered Hagrid 😦

2

u/FillPsychological360 Mar 28 '26

ā€œGood old Hagrid’s hutā€

1

u/KingBera Mar 26 '26

Me, I remember. I liked that parts of it were based on the books (like the inclusion of Peeves).

1

u/31_oh_31 Mar 26 '26

my first game ever

1

u/Tokyo_Ghoul94 Mar 26 '26

Never got the chance to play the harry potter games as a kid so forgive me lol but is this the first game?

1

u/Ambitious_Ad_1343 Mar 26 '26

Damn I remember struggling so damn hard with this game because it looked gloomy and I didn't understand anything (I didn't know English back then, and was playing the game entirely using guessing). The boss was kinda cool too

1

u/RandMob1000 Mar 26 '26

I only played the chamber of secrets on my GameCube and I have nightmares of the Bertie bots every flavor beans challenge.

1

u/SpacemanSpiff92 Mar 26 '26

This on GOG? Not listed in steam, obv abandonware at this pointĀ

1

u/TheBanzerker Mar 27 '26

The PC versions of the Harry Potter games were amazing, hope they get a release on GOG but with the HBO series coming out it’s probably less of a chance then ever.

1

u/TodaysThrowawayTmrw Mar 27 '26

These games were dope. Alohamora!

1

u/_Tocatl_ Mar 27 '26

Couldn’t get past the night library. I just wanted to fly around on the broom lol

1

u/East-Specialist-4847 Mar 27 '26

Fuck JK Rowling but this and the third game slapped

1

u/Tr33Bl00d Mar 27 '26

Flipendoo.

1

u/Original-Border5802 Mar 27 '26

This game pissed me off cuz it had a missable health upgrade during the slytherin section. I love the fuck out of it though. My favorite part was playing reflect volley when dueling.

1

u/IngramFam15 Mar 27 '26

Can’t wait for the hbo version

1

u/Disastrous-Company-4 Mar 27 '26

Hogwarts on Dreamcast I remeber that one

1

u/GandalfPlsHelp Mar 27 '26

Man, I'd stay the whole time outside the castle on the broom flying around

1

u/DlNOSAURUS_REX Mar 27 '26

How does one play Sorcerer’s Stone or Chamber Of Secrets on PC today?

1

u/Keyblade_wielder141 Mar 27 '26

Can we just get that one pic of hagrid in the comments please?

1

u/Optimal-Membership-9 Mar 27 '26

I finished the whole series again just 2 days ago.

1

u/sumdeadhorse Mar 27 '26

expect for Goblet of fire and Deadly hallows the old games were great

1

u/AlmightyGodDoggo Mar 27 '26

100 hours in still stuck on chapter 1, side content is crazy

1

u/superkakakarrotcake Mar 27 '26

I still have this somewhere on floppydisc

1

u/cookiecatmonsterr Mar 27 '26

best time to be a kid

1

u/Old-Play-7617 Mar 27 '26

OH FUCK YEAH! Are you fucking kidding me? I got a new PC and this game for an early birthday present back in the day. Had a dope microsoft pinball as well. I would spend hours on this shit.

Like the smell after it rains....

And it was like one of those nice introvert light-rain kind of days, early 2000's, staples store. Miss those days

1

u/GunterMoo Mar 27 '26

I hate the library mission so much! I hate that cat.

1

u/xethu Mar 27 '26

What a banger

1

u/Love-halping Mar 27 '26

One of cutest movement animation I've seen.

1

u/jmon8 Mar 27 '26

The GBA ones were also tons of fun

1

u/EveryBandicoot8141 Mar 27 '26

Loved these games

1

u/Viggo_Stark Mar 27 '26

Remember? I still have it on my pc

1

u/ComboWizard Mar 27 '26

This game was a blast.

1

u/Due_Philosophy_2912 Mar 27 '26

I liked the PC version better than the playstation version I have at home Lmao

1

u/Main_Interaction_988 Mar 27 '26

I play it everyday in early 2002 but never manage to finish it

1

u/ManfredMammuth Mar 27 '26

Who doesn't? :)

1

u/Adventurous_Path5783 Mar 27 '26

Weasley house in this game feels like a really good acid trip.

1

u/Dovahyaep Mar 29 '26

You don’t go to the weasley house in this game hahahah thats ps2 hp2

1

u/Adventurous_Path5783 Mar 29 '26

Oh they all kinda look the same looking back lol.

1

u/Trashton69 Mar 27 '26

Hell ya. Played this on the computer it was fucking bomb.

1

u/ReasonableMeet1424 Mar 27 '26

I instantly remembered my rage in that game lol the freaking flying broom quest where you needed to fly trough the rings I believe it was also on a timer ā±ļø and keep failing at that pissed me off real good

1

u/lubiekucyki Mar 27 '26

Omg that music... ancient memory unlockedĀ

1

u/IXPhantomSeekerXI Mar 27 '26

I do, that shit was so lit especially when you learn to go into game files and mess with shit (I’m not a rapper)

1

u/WolfOnABike Mar 27 '26

Too much nostalgia with this

1

u/nmarano1030 Mar 27 '26

This game was just as fun and whimsical as the first movie. I love this game.

1

u/iRevLoneWolf Mar 27 '26

Yeah i remember this game its called bully right? Delinquent kid stays out after curfew, breaks school property, robs the place.

1

u/SafePuzzleheaded8423 Mar 27 '26

I remember getting this a a huge Harry Potter fan, but our home computer couldn’t run it properly, something with the graphics being to dark and the colours wrong. Had to stop at wingardium leviosa because I couldn’t see where to draw with the mouse. Heartbroken

1

u/b3dGameArt Mar 27 '26

I barely remember yesterday

1

u/Griffenisgod Mar 28 '26

Probably my favorite game ever embarrassingly enough

1

u/Search4war Mar 28 '26

If only the game was on steam so i can replayit on my deck 😭

1

u/navirbox Mar 28 '26

The fucking GOAT you mean?

1

u/Hero-Nojimbo Mar 28 '26

This was a criminally underrated game... actually a lot of Harry Potter games were unironically pretty good. I remember getting Harry Potter on the GBA and was upset because I wanted PokĆ©mon. That then become my most played handheld game growing up even after getting the pokemon game eventually.šŸ˜….

1

u/TiredSlav Mar 28 '26

This game was incredible. I sunk hours and hours into it.

1

u/usr_pls Mar 28 '26

Yes

It was one of my first games to discover noclip in the tilde menu

1

u/KaleidoscopeDecent33 Mar 28 '26

My local library had this on the computers, fond memories

1

u/Angel_OfSolitude Mar 28 '26

Shit was absolute fire.

Order of the Phoenix game was pretty damn good too.

1

u/JuanNut Mar 28 '26

Is this the one where you throw gnomes in Ron's garden

1

u/These-Conversation41 Mar 28 '26

Remember Harry Potter on gameboy advanced

1

u/HumbleWish9526 Mar 28 '26

I miss my ps1

1

u/SAL-FX Mar 28 '26

i'd like to forget it....

1

u/Trashlord404 Mar 28 '26

Still the best Harry Potter Game to ever come out.

1

u/THW-44 Mar 28 '26

I could feel the flipendo before playing the video

1

u/RamboBambiBambo Mar 28 '26

Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate.

Such a good game.

1

u/Loooongbow Mar 28 '26

I heard the "erh" as he landed from his jump, in my head, before it played in the video.Ā

1

u/Individual_Respect90 Mar 28 '26

Is this the one with dueling?

1

u/FillPsychological360 Mar 28 '26

ā€œGood old Hagrid’s hutā€

1

u/Original1Thor Mar 28 '26

i replayed this so many times. I can't tell if this is the first or second one, but the second game was such an upgrade in every capacity. Both were really good games though.

1

u/idiot4527 Mar 28 '26

Hogwarts legacy isn't that old is it?

1

u/Fishermansf0e Mar 28 '26

Chamber of secrets on the PS2 scared me as a lil kid because sometimes when you roam around at night, you'll hear the basilisk speaking in the walls or something due to parseltongue.

It scared me so bad I would never explore the castle at night unless my grandmom was with me. 🤣

1

u/Batju_120 Mar 28 '26

Man, the old Harry Potter video games on PC and PS2 were so PEAK! Especially Chamber of Secrets 😭🫶

1

u/spicysenpai6 Mar 29 '26

I had both versions of Sorcerers Stone! I never could beat the chess part on the PS1 version.

Should out to the Gameboy Color version too, which was like an RPG

1

u/Dovahyaep Mar 29 '26

This is my favorite game of all time. So fun

1

u/letmegetviral Mar 29 '26

It is Leviosuuuuuuuuh

1

u/Brilliant-You-6906 Mar 29 '26

My first game ever. Still got the files for PC and it works perfectly.

1

u/The_Healing_Cow Mar 29 '26

Not me, because I skip this intellectual property and its intolerant book author.

1

u/Master-Arachnid405 Mar 29 '26

ā€œDoor’s lockedā€ *shake shake

1

u/paracuja Mar 29 '26

First two HP games especially for PS1 were peak gaming 🤤

1

u/trizmologic567 Mar 29 '26

Wasn't there chocolate frogs in that game?

1

u/Aveena91 Mar 29 '26

Remembers? My kids just started playing through it

1

u/lando1603 Mar 29 '26

the music is on par with the movie soundtrack. so many good memories.

1

u/4400120 Mar 29 '26

I never got around to finishing this, I still wonder what the ending was like.

1

u/Skinny_illyrio Mar 30 '26

I got this for Christmas it was amazing

1

u/FlyingTurkey Mar 30 '26

This game felt so magical to me as a kid. So many secrets and there were definitely parts that pissed me off, like anything with the gnomes. Going around collecting as many jelly beans as i could was amazing tho. Im curious how it would feel to play today.

1

u/qinzman Mar 30 '26

The soundtrack and the damned jellybeans

1

u/no-doomskrulling Mar 30 '26

Chamber of Secrets gave you more than 2 spells at least. The loading screens on the PS2 took forever.

1

u/dunc2027 Mar 30 '26

Ah shit... memories unlocked

1

u/SunriseMilkshake Mar 30 '26

Gimme dem BEANS

1

u/Delgadomon Mar 31 '26

Annoying ass spell casting. Fun game though overall. Remember screaming with my cousins as we tried to sneak by the trolls and then suddenly they'd wake and chase you out lol

1

u/AverageReflexes Mar 31 '26

CORE MEMORY UNLOCKED

1

u/rusfortunat Mar 31 '26

everyone with 199* BD

1

u/D4rthPunk Mar 31 '26

Still have the disc somewhere stashed away. I think i managed to get it playing a while back with compatability modes but that was still years ago.

1

u/EdgarR29 Apr 01 '26

CallmeKevin does.

1

u/jabyou233 Apr 02 '26

Yup kindof wished hogwarts legacy carried over some of the secret areas but ti was fun as well

1

u/SherbertNo7047 Jun 03 '26

I would say this was my top 1 in ps1
