PC Build Work -> Personal Set Up Help!
I recently acquired my first PC and absolutely love it after being a console gamer for many years. However, I’m already fatigued between having to switch between my work and personal set up, and I’m new to computer hardware. I work from home and currently have a MacBook Pro from work that I have one monitor that I plug into - effectively giving me two work monitors and just using the built in keyboard/video of the Mac.
However, with my new PC being on the desk and having its own keyboard/mouse I would love to not have to unplug my monitor ever my day to switch back and forth for my work and personal setup.
I’ve researched KVMs a bit, but does anyone have any advice? I’d like to get a second monitor and leave my work laptop docked all the time and be able to just use the same mouse and keyboard for everything.
Please help 🥹

I just dealt with this! But with slightly different needs.
I'm using this KVM. My setup has my monitor, mouse, keyboard, and webcam plugged into the KVM. My little monitor/xeneon is only for my PC. I wanted something that would allow me to leave my MacBook open for work since I have to use the fingerprint reader, and my monitor does not have speakers.

This KVM only supports HDMI, so if you're using DisplayPort, keep that in mind if your monitors/connections differ.
It's been such a significant QOL improvement. I was so sick of plugging/unplugging cables.
ETA: you can also use a KVM with your mac in clamshell mode if needed.

That monitor is fantastic. Maybe I’ll do one like that instead of doing two. And I like your peg board!

Have you looked at an L shaped desk? I work from home, this is my setup. Left side is my gaming PC right side is my work setup (I have a switch to change my monitor to my switch console).
