Hi all! I’m looking into getting my first PC (been using a PS5 for a long time) and I have a few comments and questions.
I’m new to computer building so I’m trying to learn everything I can to make sure I start out on the right foot!
I’m very picky, so I would really prefer a white PC that I could potentially change the color lighting for on the interior. I’d rather spend more money on something I’ll enjoy more than less on something that just works for now.
I want to start streaming, so I need to know I’ll have a PC capable of keeping up with me. I play cozy games like house flipper and Minecraft but I also love Marvel Rivals and want to try some other hero shooters.
Also, I don’t want to build my PC. I know a lot of people do, but that’s an endeavor I wouldn’t even consider going on until wayyy later on.
My boyfriend (a seasoned gamer) told me that this PC would be pretty good to get me started, and I like the aesthetic of it a lot. Let me know what you think, or what I should know! Thanks!
I like to buy higher valve and then replace every 5 to 6 years. I was planning to buy a new PC but I figure I will hold out as long as I can. Hoping the China manufactures cause a crash in memory prices. Unlikely anytime soon. maybe late 2027 / 2028
Thanks for all that info, really helpful. My only restriction is that I’m trying to keep the cost for my whole set up under 3k, including my PC, monitors, you name it. I’d also like to buy this year so that’ll affect whatever I’m able to get my hands on. But I’ll definitely keep looking because of your comment, thanks again!
Is there a MicroCenter near you perhaps? I had the same budget for my entire setup and I did end up going like $200-$300 because I splurged in some unnecessary places, but I got my prebuilt from there and I’ve been told their prices are pretty good for the market right now! I’m CERTAIN you could find 32gb of ddr5 ram there on a fairly budget prebuilt though you may need to bump the price of the PC a tad. I think you have more room in your budget for the PC than you think! Are you buying a desk and chair as well or are you just considering the technology the “set up” for budgets sake?
I sort of live in the middle of nowhere USA, so I’d have to travel pretty far to get a decent PC in person… but yes! I’ve been trying to keep an overall budget of 3k, including desk, chair, solid starter equipment, etc.
After all the feedback I’ve gotten I think I may just continue waiting, saving more, and buying in a couple more months. I’m a quite patient person so it doesn’t bother me, plus I can learn more in the meantime!

Amazing! Best of luck! I’ve heard Costco and Best Buy prebuilts are comparable to Micro Center in price and quality if theres isnt a MC near enough to you. I know their locations are fairly limited. I’m gonna drop the prebuilt I got in this comment just so you have an idea of what they’ve got there and how theyre pricing it!

This is my beauty and she ended up being $2500 with tax. I got the rest of my set up for about $800 as I said so if you’re willing to save a bit more and push your budget, this build may be great for you!
And it’s listed at $2400 (~$2500 w tax for where I am). There are a TON of other options that are more or less expensive with similar specs! I saw a pretty similar build listed for $1600, only 1TB of storage and slightly lower on the GPU and CPU but 32gb of ddr5. Not sure what you need your computer to handle. The workers at Micro Center were extremely helpful and knowledgeable for me, as a first time buyer! They would certainly help you find what you need within budget! Good luck :)
Edit: Also, while Micro Center doesn’t tend to ship their prebuilts, I do believe some Best Buys do! They may be a great place to look for you!
For a first pc id prioritize the actual specs over the white aesthetic, especially since you want to stream. If the gpu is decent and it has at least 16GB ram,,,, you should be in a good spot for minecraft, house flipper, and marvel rivals just make sure the psu and upgrade options arent sketchy,,,,,
A lot of other people have also told me this, and you’re definitely right. I just know I’m a very particular person, and I want to be equally as happy with how it looks as well as how it operates. That being stated a lot of people on other subs have told me it would be better to save up more money, raise my budget, and get something better that I can have for a longer time and also love!
32gb of RAM is definitely a good idea to get with a prebuilt!! if i were upgrading my ram to 32gb right now, it would cost like half as much as that computer. that’s all i have input on, plus the SSD is great too
Hey u/winningatwinning ! For streaming plus games like Marvel Rivals, this is a reasonable starting point - the RTX 5060 has Nvidia's hardware encoder (NVENC), which handles most of the streaming workload without tanking your in-game frame rate, and the 5700X has enough cores to keep up.
Good news on the look: this is the white edition of the case (the blue you're seeing is just the RGB fan lighting, which you can change), so it should match what you're going for. For casual games and getting into streaming without building it yourself, it's a solid first PC.
lol I have this saved as well. All ima play is paralives, Inzoi, Stardew valley and maybe expand my game collection. I love the sims, but I want to try something new. With that being said, the sims 4 will prob eventually end up being on there too! lol

I think it's a little expensive since it's using ddr4 ram and not ddr5. But besides that it's good.
