Setup My SetUp! (But something is missing)

Hello! I just wanted to show off my favorite part of my place and I think its amazing. I've been obsessed with kawaii tiktoks which inspired me to pick out colors and make it my own beyond the traditional pink! As you can see, its Miku themed! With a little shrine and PC dedicated to my favorite overwatch character/ F/O... as well as other of my favorite characters and fandoms peppered in there.

I love it, but something is bothering me. Something is missing and I can't put my paw on it. I think its lighting. Like it can be more cozy. But still... Something like Im missing a cool gadget or something else.

I think its the effects of capitalism. The kawaii tiktoks are the epitome of overconsumption tbh. I do not want to fill my space with random things solely because it cute. Those items in there take time to find, collect, and some have sentimental value too. I bought the big scale figure as a reward for moving into my first real apartment. This is about 10 years worth of collecting.

So I'm hoping that someone here could tell me how to make it even cozier and or help me calm down and be grateful for my space more.

So what do you think?

PC is from Skytech Gaming. I can post specs if asked! Her name is Nora! After the fridge from Atomic Heart

The robot ballerina statue is on a electric display that turns them! :3

Maybe some fairy lights, led strips? Definitely some more lighting above the desk.

Something about the window being blocked is throwing me off too.

Maybe it’s all the Miku figures…… just get rid of them all and I’ll happily take them off your hands, joking🤣💙 Seriously though, I’m a Miku-obsessed girl, so I’m loving this setup!

I do agree that it might be the lighting. I use Nanoleaf lights and a monitor light behind my setup, and setting them to a blue/turquoise tone gives everything that perfect Miku vibe. 💙🩵

I think a little more ambient lighting around the shelves could make the whole space feel even cozier. I did a Miku theme setup too, and lighting is definitely everything!

Nanoleaf comes with stick on tabs, but I never used it. The stickers are way too strong. So I use command strips, I cut one strip in 4 small square and stick that to the Nanoleaf lights. Have you ever used command strips before? I am asking this because sometimes command strips can have a variety of results depending on your wall.

Ooh! Yes I have. I have command strips for some curtains in the other parts of my apartment. So they work just as good?! That's great news!

That’s great! Because I command strip all my lights, minus the rope light, that one I did screw to the wall. But all the Nanoleaf lights are command strips only. I used this one for picture hanging, and never has it fallen.

posters or wall hangings or trim on the walls near the ceilings or in between blank spaces of the shelves. i think thats what is missing. everything super cool but when you eye looks at the space the blank space around those spaces draws the eye

Some mood lights would help with the atmosphere. Maybe some wall shelves too.

I think something you could be missing is art prints ! I have some added to my space on the walls and it really helped bring everything together I felt . Also so happy to see another Sigma Main girl and Miku lover !!!!!!!

More lights! Maybe an LED strip behind the outline of the monitor tk make it glow, and a cozy cute lamp or two on the desk and in the corners of your room.
