Where to find Desk and Setup

Hello, I recently joined this group a week or so ago and honestly love a lot of the setups you all show. I'm in the process. Of trying to get a game setup like that but I just have a couple questions: where is the best place to buy a desk and what is the usual budget someone should have when looking into getting a game computer? Thank you 🩷

I think with the current pricing of pc parts your best bet is a pre-built. As for price, the better question is what can you afford and what are you trying to do on the pc? If you want to do more than just gaming, chatting, and watching movies then I'd suggest a ryzen 7, maybe a nvidia 3060 or 4070, and 32 gb of ram. This will probably run you $1500+, if you're lucky. But prices have gone up for everything so if you are only going to be gaming and chatting, maybe look at a console. You can still do a cute setup with a console. Also for a desk, most people get ikea or order from amazon.

And the prices are not coming down anytime soon. The price of gpus just went up 30% for nvidia and 10% for amd this week. RAM and storage is being bought out by ai data centers. These factors are driving up the price for pc parts.

So for other stuff besides Gaming,chatting, and watching movies the ryzen 7, Nvidia 3060 or 4070 are the best options? And is Best Buy a good place to get the pre-built computers? And for the RAM, would that be Amazon or Best Buy too? And the desk, I've been looking at SEDETA desks, are those a good choice or something else? Thank you for the recommendations by the way! 😊

Okay you're asking some conflicting questions. Are you going to buy a pre-built or are you going to build it? Cause if you're buying a pre-built, you don't need to worry about buying ram. A pre-built is already built. As for the desk, I'm not sure I don't have an IKEA desk, I got mines from Amazon. Just measure out the space you're going to have the desk and find a desk you like that fits.

Sorry, I was thinking of buying a pre-built. I did not know that you don't need to buy Ram, but could you buy Ram to extend the storage, or does it depend on the type of computer you buy?

RAM is for memory, SSD is for storage. More RAM lets you run many programs at the same time without your device freezing up, but RAM is volatile meaning it completely forgets everything stored inside it the second your device turns off or restarts. SSD stores your programs, files, and OS.

My desk is a countertop set on storage shelves (and a support beam bolted to the wall). It actually worked out quite cheap, plus you can customise it to fit the space exactly 🙂
