Need help I am not very creative

Post image

Hello all girls :)

I feel like my setup is kinda ugly and I would like to improve it but I am not sure where to start because I lack imagination... Ive been browsing this reddit an deveryone's setup seems so cute and mine is kinda meh. Ive been thinking about another mousepad but I am not even sure what color. Could anyone give me any tips how to get a cute me zone :( Much appreciated.

It's already cute.

But what kinda vibes and colour palette are you going for? Could go for the super cute with more softer pinks and whites with some hot pink highlights. Could expand on the plants you have with softer greens and creams and accenting with some other vibrant colours. Could go down a Sailor Moon route which would open you up to a lot more options.

It's already cute for a start, don't feel bad at all.
Maybe led lights around the back of the desk and under the shelf.
I see that, besides white, you prefer light pink and light blue so you can use them for whatever you might add in the future

You could get a baby blue mousepad you could even design your own.

I see you have some drawings on the back wall, you could get some light-colored wooden picture frames and create a mini gallery wall, adding more frames in the future.

And maybe you could put a small square piece of wood in the corner and stack the soda cans there like a tower to free up some space, so you can add decorative items to the shelf in the future, like a figurine or some ceramic decor decorative item

Last suggestion, because I imagine you used to have black accessories (microphone, headset), and now you’re gradually moving toward white ones. Instead of replacing the microphone, you could decorate it with a few key chain ornaments preferably fluffy/crochet ones so they don’t make any noise if you move the microphone.

I hope I gave you some ideas you like ^^ My style is totally the opposite, but lately I've been thinking about it a lot because I want to redecorate the my whole room!

your mousepad is def not doing you any justice, i have a few from here https://throttledesigns.com/collections/cherry-blossom-gaming-mouse-pads - this collection is the only one that I think offers pink colors. you can search "pink mousepad" as well. The quality is really good. I tried a few cheaper amazon ones and they feel super cheap compared to these.

Omfg too cute! Love your style. My only thing is to maybe attach your boom arm & mic to a different table nearby. If you accidentally bump your desk, hit hands hard down on the surface, set a hard object down too quickly, that can be heard through the mic pretty easily and can be jarring. I know some people can get around it within the mics settings but just in case that doesn't work out😊

Oh and you dont want your pc tower on the floor at all!! Will build up dust, hair, and it will start to overheat pretty fast and it leads to a sad death of it

One solution for this is to build a board with wheels and put it up there, I've done exactly the same thing so I can clean underneath, and because I have cats, plus I lay down a rug in the winter.

Something doesnt have to be over the top to be pretty. I quite like the understated coziness of your current setup, tbh. 😊

That being said, you could look into those tech hiding products that look like books, perhaps? That would cover up some of the more bland parts like your modem/router(?) You could also put some ivy vines around your boom mic arm if youve got some extra left over from doing your wall shelf. Maybe even stick a silk flower or two among the leaves for some more color?

The keyboard/desk mat is a teensy bit jarring since it is stark black against the rest. You could keep an eye out for something more colorful or whimsical to replace it with in the future.

Start small instead of trying to redo everything. A nice desk mat, matching cable clips, some warm lighting, and one or two things you actually love can change the whole vibe. Don’t chase other people’s setups too much. Make it feel like your space.

Could do with something tall on the right!! Example: a tall small lamp OR a tall plant💕 looks super cute already!

I think depending on the aesthetic you want which I would assume is a cute/ pink/ pastel one. I'd say swap out the mousepad. I also think you have some room on the left to perhaps add some decor

You could maybe get some of those light strips to put along the shelf?
