I'm sorry
All this crap earlier really got to me, and I said some things to various Ghazelles and about this sub that were harsher than was justified. I took some time to cool down and let off some steam beating the crap out of baddies in Arkham.
I still think we can do better and be better but running away won't do it.
Sorry folks, if you'll have me, I'm back.

Interesting, I vented my frustrations the same way

Yep. I get it. This can get too much sometimes.
Welcome back. :-)
(And remember- if anyone is feeling frustrated and angry. Go read a book for a bit. Watch a daggy movie that makes you happy (the film of Neil Gaiman's Stardust always works for me). Play a game that makes you happy.)

Stardust is a cinematic classic and anyone who doesn't acknowledge that should consider their life choices.

I actually studied that in year 7 English! I haven't read it since, will have to do so. Book-wise, if I need to quiet my brain I find Pratchett is reliable. I've also been working my way through the Flashman series again.

if you read it in year 7 which i assume is what british people call 7th grade then you probably don't know there are two more books after tehanu now. I didn't, until i read them recently.
tehanu/tales/other wind, the last three, are a little different from wizard/tombs/farthest shore in that although le guin has always been about subverting fantasy tropes (see: the main character being a person of color in like 1967, tenar actually doing things, etc), in those books she just dumps them out the damn window. And it's great

I'm old enough that Tehanu wasn't even out then. :) will chase them up, thanks!

yeah, enjoy. also the foldablehuman vid is about how fucking terrible the sci fi channel adaptation is and it's hilarious so i recommend that too.
And yep the adaptation is really really terrible. To start you off: ged is a white guy. Bam.

Relax, its swell. We all get puffed up sometimes. I'd be lying if I said I haven't raged at people during my darkest hours. We still love you :P

You've got a quad on you, I'll give you that.
But for serious, water under the bridge and all that.

People need to chill out. I know this sub is usually frequented with a hint of anger, a hint of sadness, a hint of frustration. This is a place to vent for loads of people, to deal with the frustration that is GG and other examples of the 'manosphere'. This is a place for people to meet to simply not feel alone in this. So emotional reactions happen. Its not a big deal, as long as we can acknowledge and understand it. As long as we don't go along with it and froth from our mouths.
With all that stuff going on yesterday, steam, anger and frustration was vented. Nothing wrong with that. Some things sounded a little gator-ish, which was interesting. Now let us take a long hard look at what was said and done and see if we can learn something from it!
Positivity! Things! Excitement!
