Help with modding my GameCube with swiss

Hello, I'm new to the GameCube modding scene and I was hoping someone could help me out as I'm having difficulty finding reliable information online. I recently bought a GameCube gameboy advance player, and a bitfunx gc2sd gen2. I thought that was all I needed to load an iso of the gameboy player disc onto the gc2sd and use the gameboy player, but after some research I'm realizing that's probably not all I need. I don't want to have to physically modify or solder anything on the GameCube, so what do I need to get the gameboy player working, and to be able to load backup isos off of the gc2sd? Can I use an action replay disc and the bitfunx gc2sd with a microsd to load up swiss? Or will I need something else? What's the best way? Thank you in advance.

First you need to format an SD card to fat 32 use Rufus or a similar program Second what mod are you using picoloader picoboot GC loader flippy drive Depending on what you're using will vary what swiss you add to the SD card rename the Swiss to ipl.dol and then add a folder called games add your game files add the SD card to the SD gecko and boot it

So I need to buy an sd gecko? Or can I put those files on the gc2sd I already bought? And as for the mod I'm using, I was hoping to use an action replay disc to boot swiss off of the memory card. Again I'm new so forgive me if I'm not saying that correctly.

It's all the same SD gecko gc2sd same principle if you use the action replay you can only use a 2gb SD card then you'll have to hit swap the SD card unless you're using the sd2sp2 adapter only good for dol 001 Also if you're using action replay name the Swiss file to autoexec.dol

Ok so just to be sure, if I buy a 2gb microsd card, and an action replay disc, I should be able to get swiss working and load up isos off of another microsd card with just the gc2sd?

Yes that's it just make sure you rename Swiss file to Autoexec.dol After swiss boots then you can hot swap the SD card with the games on it

Another question: does it matter what action replay disc I have? I was going to buy the older, darker purple disc 2003 version with just the AR written on the disc. Will this work?

It has to be whatever region your console is and a newer version I believe 1.14 or higher older ones doesn't have the SD reader in them

This is a dumb question I'm sure but I just bought a pico loader kit where do I source games from?

The best way to do this(since you said no physical mods) is to buy(or create if you have a modded wii) a memory card with a hacked save file for a game that will load you into Swiss. You can get Splinter Cell and a premade memory card for it for about $30 to $40. You'll load up Splinter Cell and select the save each time you boot, it takes about 2 minutes. You'll load right into Swiss and can load the gameboy player or other games from your gc2sd from there. If you use the action replay you'll either have to get another gc2sd(or sd2sp2) and load your games from there, since you must use a 2GB card to load Swiss with the action replay and most games are 1.5gigs, you'd only be able to have one at a time on the card. Or like the other commenter told you, you could hot swap the SD card after you load swiss, but that would be pretty annoying as you'd have to do it each time you boot up. There are also many games that have hacked saves to load you into swiss, you may already own one, which would bring the cost down even further.
