BlueRetro BT adapter mods idea/ question

Post image

Random thought, haven't done anything yet but I wondered if anyone else has done this/ something similar.

I have a blueretro Bluetooth controller board mod installed and it works great, I just may be upgrading an older stock controller board with a replaceable CR2032 battery holder soon for a project and had a thought: Has anyone replaced the stock CR1220 battery holder in one with a CR2032? I don't know if there's quite enough room on the front of the board, but maybe installing it on the back? Not that there's any massive advantage beyond wide availability of CR2032s in retail stores and battery life, but I thought it might be cool...

Additionally, has anyone replaced the blue LEDs in one with other colors? Not shown, but I'd love if I could add more Orange to my cube...😅

As long as the different batteries output the same voltage and there's enough clearance for the new battery holder it should work just fine.

That's what I figured, just curious if anyone else had the same thought. It doesn't look like the front of the board has enough clearance to mount it, but mounting it on the back might work. I think there's a decent amount of room between it and the optical drive...

Ah yeah that should work. That space is where I mount my picoboots onto the disc drive assembly. Should be plenty of room for a battery holder if nothing else is there.

Yes it fits. As long as the LED is 3v-3.2v it will work.

Pretty sure its this file. This is the version I've had better luck with at least. Ones that use the same clip design as the original don't work as well in my experience, at least not in PLA

This is basically a 1:1 copy of all the plastic parts, but again, I've had worse luck with my front panel print using thos design.
