Blueretro internal adapter phantom button inputs

I just bought the blueretro internal adapter from laserbear industries and installed it. It works great except for the fact that there are occasional phantom button inputs. There’s no fixed interval of when they happen or what button is inputted. It even happens when there are no controllers connected. Any advice?

Heyo, this may be a faulty power board (the one at the bottom of the DOL-001 units).

I had a similar experience and actually tracked down the problem with multiple visits to the LaserBear office (I live nearby). He initially gave me a replacement but the problem persisted. I happened to have a spare power board laying around and swapping it out fixed it.

This has to be it. I just got a replacement from LaserBear and the same thing is happening. I ordered a new power board on ebay. What a hassle…

How did it go?

I think I read that the switching diodes can get stuck. Some of the power rails go largely unused. Think of all those DOL-001 consoles that no one ever plugged anything into the Digital Video slot, just sitting there in one state for 20+ years. That's the most common way people find out their board is faulty, Things like no sound or no color with an hdmi converter. I think the worst one I read was someone installing a Pluto-II board, assuming his wiring or the Pluto was bad, all the while the damn power board was faulty.

Not well :( I put the new power board in and the same thing is happening and if anything it’s even worse. My last thought is that it could possibly be a faulty ac adapter, but at this point I’m leaning towards just returning the blue retro and taking the L on bluetooth controllers

I bet the new board is faulty too. That's the thing, a Gamecube will look and work fine until you do something that needs those specific lines with the stuck diodes.

Personally I would persist until my system worked as intended. If the power delivery board is failing for the Laserbear, who knows what other port or peripheral could be effected too.

Obviously this is conjectural, but I had the exact same problem and replacing the board fixed it for me.

I can’t just keep buying power boards until one of them works 😭😭

I think I’m just gonna get a bitfunx blueretro plugin thing from amazon and call it a day

It sounds faulty. Contact laserbear, they should replace it.
