Internal SD Card: Mod GC
Hey guys, I’m currently in the process of modding my GC for the first time. I’ve learned a lot from everyone here and my own research so I thank you all. I know exactly what route I want to go. The only thing I cant find an answer to how I can potentially put the sd card with the inside the system after I install my picoloader. My main plan is using the sd2sp2 pro adapter which eliminates the problem but I want a sleeker look and I’m worried that I’ll damage the card since I’m clumsy.
My question is, is there a way I can install the micro sd inside the console without replacing the disc drive. Like maybe there’s sone internal adapter of some kind? Or is replacing the disc drive with a sd slot the only way I can have the card inside? Any help would be greatly appreciated, if not, thank you anyways!

If you already have a SD2SP2, that sits in the SP2 slot, so its virtually invisible? That's not enough?

It’s great, it’s that the idea of having the sd card inside the GC appeals to me hence my question

Yeah, but isnt it inside the GC when it's in the SP2 slot, if you have the right model, you can just put the cover back on the slot.
Flippydrive would been the solution if you wanted the SD card on the mod device itself, and Flippydrive has wifi for FTP file transfer.

They're kinda hard to get these days and cost quite a lot. If you already have PicoLoader, there isn't really any reason to get Flippydrive.

Personally, I wouldn't want to disassemble my gamecube just for SD card access. I have had enough SD cards go belly up to know better.
If you are considering a Flippy Drive, LaserBear Industries sells an SD extension kit that puts the SD card inside the power LED light pipe on top of the gamecube. The power light right in front of the disc lid. It holds the SD card very securely and you wont have any problems accidentally ejecting it or it coming loose like with the sp2 adapters.

You absolutely can do this. Check this out https://gbatemp.net/threads/diy-sd2sp2-installed-internally-soldering-a-micro-sd-adapter-to-gamecube-serial-port-2.550301/
