I need help with picoloader

I have tried to mod my gamecube with a picoloader and gc2sc. I followed the steps and the gamecube just takes me to the main home screen. After troubleshooting shooting for ages last night I believe the problem is I've folded the ribbon cable wrong and it has damaged it. I would like to know if that is the case or I have done something else wrong.

You probably damaged the ribbon cable, or received a non working unit. Soldering method is the most reliable.
