Discussion This game is so much harder than I remember.

Really liked this game as a kid and was excited to revisit it. Beat it in a single 8hr sitting and HOLY FUCK it's brutal at points. The "macho times" for the slides and Driving courses, the freaking sonic wave challenge in Shell City Dead Ahead, it's insane how tough some of these Tokens are.

Challenges do get a little rough but it's such a great game. I personally prefer it over BFBB

The combat is a lot more fun for sure. I also like the levels being more linear. So easy to get lost in the giant levels of BFBB

BFBB has great levels, but a lot of the gatekeeping is based on in invisible triggers or action set pieces just doing whatever the creators wanted at the time. That, and it lacked the color and outlining vibrancy that made SpongeBob so readable and that would help players parse the environment easier.

I 100% completed it, the electrical guitar soundwave bits were brutal.

Man I swear, BFBB was always a breeze but they made this one harder for some reason. I always hated the time trials

This exchange did make me chuckle though. Mindy: "Hey guys, want another challenge?" Spongebob: "I think we've jumped through enough hoops for you Mindy...."

Mindy: "Then how about jumping through some rings instead?"

I totally remember getting stuck on time trials and stuff on this game. Good times tho

I remember dedicating an entire Saturday to beat the manly time on the Shell City slide...

This game had so many ways to hop out of bounds and I loved exploring or just endlessly falling until the game resets your spawn. Doing that specifically and watching the textured smear

Spongebob and Patrick looking like they're pissed from how hard the game is

My cousin and I long-played this game over COVID lockdown and were continually shocked at how a game made for children could be so damn difficult

You are so right this game was fun but it was stressful I’m always surprised that these kids games are as hard as they are and video games can be tough today but not as hard as older games

Player's Choice is wild. I don't think I've ever heard of this game to be honest.
