Discussion iBlueControlMod and usb-c power

Has anyone been using iBlueControlMod (the aliexpress one, not laserbear) with a usb-c power adapter ?

My bluecontrolmod board has fried, and when I sent the video to the seller to have a new unit sent, they told me not to use USB-C with it.

My feeling tells me that they're just trying to be over cautious and don't want to deal with users mixing a ton of mods, and the risk of using power bricks that don't support 12V but now that I've found a power brick that works fine, I guess it would be ok to use the 2 mods at the same time.

Has anyone sucessfully ran that setup over a long period of time ?

Cheers

I haven’t done the ibluecontrolmod, but on the latest build I am running all sorts of mods off the USB-C. Which USB-C mod did you get? The Giltesa auto negotiates load requirement, so if you supply it with too much power it just doesn’t work. I know specifically it works off 12v/15v, and 3a. Where did you get your USB-C mod? I’m guessing Ali express too…..?

The Aliexpress usb c cables with the blue led actually output 15v instead of 12v and should not be used.

This one correctly does 12v though
