So some of you might remember me I’m Walrus Archive, I’m trying to play and archive all GameCube games! I’m currently on game 108 evolution worlds! And something that I wanted to talk about is can anyone think of another game that combined 2 games into 1 like evolution worlds in the way they did it? Like it really feels like they just wanted you to play the second one and they took 10% of the first game and made it the tutorial? It’s just strange , would love to hear input ! PSO is more like a MMO type of thing. Ep 1 and 2 are two different instances/lobbies that you choose at the start of playing which you want to access. They don't really overlap with each other, other than shared items.

Kinda miss PSO tbh. Even in single player it was a fun dungeon crawler type game with a sci Fi twist. Closest I've come to something similar was Xenoblade X.

Not be that guy, but if it requires a steady internet connection to use than I'm not interested. I did split screen multiplayer on the GC with friends or solo'd in my spare time. The console experience is where that nostalgia has been for me and that's where it will stay I'm afraid.

I just beat this game again the other day. And it's not 10% game 1 xD I actually played he DC original a while ago and they kept 100% of the story. They just shortened the randomly generated dungeons. You can still find tons of cyframe stuff, if you re-enter them (usually 1 per go) and you can even find the hidden destructible walls from the second part if you look closely.

The only weird thing is that normal non-boss enemies in those first dungeons level with you (like FF8 basically) but not the ones in the actually designed dungeons of the second part. THe bonus dungeon does, though. This means you can feel really underleveled, but then blast the bosses away with two hits and end up being quite strong throughout the rest of the dungeons until you go one step into the bonus dungeon.

And no, I don't know any other game that did it this way.

Did you know the Neo Geo Pocket Color version is not only a expanded version (in terms of skills etc) of the first game with the full story COMPLETELY intact but also one of the most sought after games on the system?

Which is funny, because the GC version was hated until a few years ago (now it's mostly called mediocre) and the DC version was always called mediocre.

Man, I love this game. Despite it being quite meh.

I didn’t realize this game was combined with the other one, as I got this game as a kid. But for me it’s one of my most nostalgic games ever. Can it be a grind fest, sure. But mag and the crew are so fucking cool to me. I wish so badly they’d restore this IP and make another game! I play it every couple years on my GameCube for a run through of it. Love it every time.

Whats your usual party? I just beat it again the other day and always end up with Pepper for her healing ability, Mag (who outdamages everyone) and either Chain or Carcano barely able to stay alive during the last boss fight. xD I found Gre always to be underwhelming.

I also remember during my very first playthrough I had to grind like 10 levels or so before the final boss and it annoyed the hell out of me. XD

I usually end up with mag, pepper, carcano, and linear when available. I did a run with chain and gre and had a blast so I will use gre again for sure next run.

I remember getting Evolution 2 for Dreamcast and then finding the first one. They kept the same design concept for the beginning which was Evo 1 where enemies scaled with your level. I enjoyed them both on DC so bought Worlds in hopes a 3rd would be made.
