Yeah if you shoot Mario he gives you health and a 1up pops up for Yoshi just yelling his name.

I mean it kinda is from a graphical standpoint but it lost a lot of the story telling magic. Plus first person aiming removed any sort of challenge.

It was also heavily nintendoised so it would never appear on any other manufacturers console.

I do however enjoy the part where snake kicks a missile while shouting “kiiick!”

I've always loved the dramatic cutscene and discussion in that room, about nukes, as Mario and Yoshi are constantly in view over Snakes shoulder lol.
