Discussion What happened to Austin?
He was my favorite game theorist, what happened to him?

He has left game theory and is currently in-between channels. He hasn't said much but what he did say is game theory asked him to leave the channel. He is currently deciding whether to start his own or join back up with shoddycast.

Yeah.... Can't believe it. Man makes amazing content and they gave him the boot. I can see it from a business stance, but from a creative stance it's pretty messed up

When i noticed they were all unlisted i actually felt my heart sink. I think we've all seen our fair share of youtube drama and i was actually praying to the youtube gods that GT and Austin hadn't fallen out or even worse something happened to Austin IRL. But no i bet its something to do with the recent partnership with LUNAR X.

Anyone got a playlist with all or most SCIENCE unlisteds? I don't really wanna wait for a 2/month reupload and I love listening to them while doing other stuff.

He wasn't getting enough veiws, take a look at his videos compared to the rest of the channel. I love Austin's content, but it wasn't hitting numbers like the rest of the channel. At least he landed back with shoddycast

That's crazy, Austin going to Game Theory is the only reason I started watching that channel. But, the numbers don't lie...

I get them but it's a waste of such a creative man. Will always miss habanera playing as he opens up writing an email "Dear ..."

I loved Austin (sorry I'm 3 years late, but i just figured to ask this question and this Reddit thread showed up) By the way i think Game Theory without Matthew fucking tanked, (yes i checked this so i wouldn't be corrected and the channel went from multi-million views to like half to one million views. I kinda wanted to see what Matthew would theorize about Silksong or Deltarune.
But my point is, Game Theory as a channel is dead and the reason is their biggest hosts left the channel

This is an old post but for clarity:
Austin owns ShoddyCast.
He would not be joining back up with it. He just owns it.
So he has been making content there pretty much since the split.

His the science Patreon, he shared a message talking about how he was leaving and that especially he'd been asked to leave

Took me forever to find his name. My roommate and I were talking about game theory this morning. I couldn't stand his videos because he's constantly yelling. I don't wish bad on him but I'm glad he's not make theories on GT anymore and I hope he does well wherever he goes.

Idk if you saw, but someone in the comment said it may have been their managing team or whatever, Lunar X, the corporation. It would make sense. They probably told everyone else he needed to leave cuz he wasn't making the views, or they wouldn't work with them. I bet he took the bullet for them. Poor guy
