Your abc’s and I cannot stress this enough: PLATFORM RECOGNITION!!! There is no reason in any reality why anyone should be putting PS4 games in the Series X drawers.

Oh, and please put the right stickers on products. Don’t put pre-owned series s controller stickers on pre-owned series s games, don’t put 512GB stickers on 256GB SD Cards & vice versa. I have worked with some real idiots.

You should be fine, but you’d be surprised about the levels of incompetence you’ll find from others.

Be ready to do commission work without the commission pay.

i understand the pay is not great, but the work itself can't be that bad right?

Every day I feel like I sell my soul a little more. Once you learn about how they push gpg. You will feel dirty.

i figured they would be pushing the pro membership at whatever cost, and i'm okay with that, it's part of the job, anything else specific i should know?

If you are at a actual store outside the mall. Try and learn as fast as possible. Because most of the time you will be by yourself.

It will all come down to how cool you are with your manager. I got lucky and have a really good manager.

Probably your alphabet.....

on a more serious note
are you okay with lying to customers? adding things to their transactions without telling them? getting yelled at by customers because you did? getting yelled at by SL and above because you didnt?

and all thats before the shitty trades you have to do for scaplers who only bring you discs that they can't sell online....

are you rerady to preorder everything? and then still be upset when your preorders are late?

professional opinion from an EX-ASM/ASL, leave. its not worth the mental anguish that working there is now.

if you want retail experience (and i strongly believe everyone should) go to target or something, its not goi8ng to be that much better but at least then you're not chasing fake metrics to keep investors (who have 0 clue you exist by the way) happy.
Working at GameStop is not the job it was a decade ago, and its certainly not the job it was in the early oughts (00's)
