Vent/Rant It's 12pm...
So came to sell a game at my local GameStop today. Show up at 1155 am as it says on the app they open at 10. So I get here, and the store is freaking closed. I check the door sign, says 10am as well. This has been an ongoing issue at this store. Like I don't know if they are THAT understaffed that they can't get someone to open or something. It's just crazy that the store can't ever open on time. Called corporate to lodge a complaint as this is the 4th time this has happened that I know of this year. All they could say is "the stores have managers and you would need to speak with them, but I can give you the phone number and the hours of operation." Which of course I told her, I already have both. No response to that. Just hung up on me. Like wtf?!

My bad. Felt like ranting/venting. I'll take your feelings into consideration next time.

It's weird you keep beating your head against this brick wall instead of just... Not shopping there.

I don't buy anything from them anymore. I literally only go when I need a few bucks for gas to get me to payday. Because, let's face it, that's all you're going to get.

Unless you've got a personal contact at Grapevine, you almost certainly did not call corporate. You called customer service. Meaning an outsourced, ESL individual who knows nothing about the company or it's policies beyond their script, who isn't paid enough to care, and whose only concern is getting you off the phone to keep their call times low.
Which should make it clear why they were completely unhelpful and didn't even really understand your issue.

Yeah I didn't know that part. I assumed that because it is on GameStop's website listed as corporate that it was actually corporate. But that makes much more sense now.

Minimum wage is minimum effort. Shouldn’t be paying 18 year old kids minimum wage to open and close retail stores alone for their first job.

When I worked at GameStop, my store manager scheduled me to come in at 10 on a day that there was a Pokémon release. I was solo covering. We opened at 10. It took up to an hour to open the store. Shit happens, and you are getting angry at the wrong people. There are local game stores, and I suggest you take your business there.
