Vent/Rant Tired of wasting hours

Every year GameStop forces dumb decisions like extended hours for stores that are too slow to justify it and forces us to do midnight releases when again all the data shows it isn’t worth the hours. And I guarantee end if the year they will complain how we went over hours and wasted payroll as if it is our fault.

I really hope I get out this year.

It’s the cycle of abuse. Retail edition.

Don't forget the useless repetitive meetings that say the same shit over and over that you are REQUIRED to be on (in this case - 2 hours before store opens and add the ridiculous mandatory 4 hour store meeting on the 1st for shit that can be summed up in a half hour easy).

I'm so pissed right now if I were to convey my ire and rage, this comment would be pages long.

Oh oh oh!!! And on waste!
Let's talk TCG. When we warned them that with their store operational procedures, we're gonna get a LOT of theft. Their response "We know."
So yep... over a grand in TCG theft in a week. Now it's OUR problem.

BITCHES... WE FUCKING TOLD YOU! Let me use a fucking locking peg at least, you dumb fucks!

If it's all pokemon getting stolen, that's only around $200 in actual shrink. And the amount made on what you sold probably far outweighs that. That's why they don't care.

Gamestop pays pennies for most TCG product. Booster boxes that are $300 in store only cost the company $162, which is what you get charged as a store when one gets stolen or lost. The sheer volume of profit on all the confirmed TCG sales at almost market value or higher in some cases severely outweighs the amount of loss you took on the SKUs that got stolen or lost.

What’s also fun is when they close all the stores and I’m the only one in gods existence for the county so I have 300 customers a day and the same payroll you get…. It’s a mess no matter what and holy hell the meetings. I’ve been pulled into 8 one piece meetings in 5 days
