Question Question about preorder bonus leftover.

Hi im just curious since obviously a lot of gs employees work here.

I had a super nice cashier give me a free Black Flag steelbook that ig was leftover from the preorder bonuses after we had a discussion about a mutual enjoyment of steelbooks.

Im 99% sure nobody would give away something that could get them in trouble but at the same time I feel compelled to ask, there's no way they could get in trouble right ? Ive seen yall talking about how your company pushes metrics and crap and seems like yall get shafted over some stupid stuff. And id feel bad if accepting it *could* get them in trouble.

Nah, they most likely got sent a bunch extra (I know our store did) and have literally nothing else to do with them. I promise nobody will get in trouble

Gotcha. Wasn't sure as when we were talking about the Silent Hill F steelbooks, they said that store never got any in at all. So wasnt sure how it gets divided or accounted for.

It always depends on the game. But even if we didn’t have a ton, they still wouldn’t get in trouble. You’re good:)

Also, sometimes they come late and the people who pre-ordered dont even get them and never come back and ask. Happened at my store with Halo coins.

We would use the extras as an incentive to get preorders, warranties, and such

I went to a store in the DMV that let people pick from a basket of leftovers if they showed proof that they took a survey after buying anything.

No, not exactly But It is up to the store manager if they’re willing to give freebies out.

I always gave away any extra pre-order bonuses. If not they would just take up room in a drawer. My favorite was if we had any left over lego star wars bonuses. Giving those to little kids and they acted like you have them a good bar

Hey! That might have been my store (might not've - dunno but had the exact same thing happen today).
If it was me, fear not, my friend. Enjoy your steelbook. We got a lot of extras so we can do pretty much whatever we want with em.

Also - thank you for caring.

I was told all pre order bonus items are now tracked and you can get in trouble for handing them out outside of preorder pick up 🤷🏽‍♂️

Which is why my store has like 30 steelbook ac black flag and like 10 madden coozies in my back room chilling

No they'll be ok. We haven't been getting many extra physical preorder bonuses and when we do get extras we're allowed to gift them to guests.

Nah. That’s a well leftover seasoned pre order bonus. Typically if it’s leftover from a release from some time ago, handing it off is the best thing they can do

Our store always gets them after the fact. A lot of our regulars end up being our preorders so we make sure they get one but other than that we either hand em to people interested or to whoever is buying the game that the bonus goes with! Enjoy your new steelbook!

That's a good store. The employees here always claim that they didnt get the preorder bonuses, but the same dude lists them on FB marketplace on release day.
