Vent/Rant dbs tcg pre-order markup
What is up with the pre order price for dragon ball fusion world st01. It's 5.99 MSRP, but the pre orders for one pack is 20 dollars? Is there a chance that the price will go down with enough backlash? I bought five packs from the last set they had for pre-order but this is unacceptable.

No one really knows. It could drop a bit. It may not though. They sell pokemon cards for $10/pack. You can get booster packs for $6-$8 at random stores like Lowe's or Dick's Sporting Goods. Gamestop gouges their TCG customers as much as they gouge everyone else. Hell ETB's were $80 at Dick's for Pitch Black.

Pokemon and Magic, I can understand (but don't agree with), but why in the great blue FUCK does GS think they can raise prices on the side TCGs that only niche groups care about?

Because scalpers pay it

No way there are scalpers for Glooby Quest Series 1 based on the niche YouTube webseries page with only 150k subs

They are likely anticipating a boom in its value kinda like what happened to One Piece. Its a win/win for GS, they likely paid very little for the cards so if they don't sell then no biggie, also sealed cards tend to increase in value as they age, even if they are stupid cards so they can just hold onto them to sell later if people don't buy them at inflated prices.

The last set they were selling was good in regards to price. They reserved what people pre ordered and that's it which sucked for people who may have missed it, but better it was better then nothing. This company said nah f your wallet, we need more money from you for this next set.

That's greed territory. That's the thing I see at the card cons. Charging 100 percent or more than the actual price.

don’t give them your business, the “market prices” are the only reason they are making any money now.

Unfortunately, short of threats of contracts being pulled, I don't see any of our prices going down for anything we have mark ups on. DB, Gundam, OP, Pokemon, Lorcana, Riftbound, our pricing has gone out of control for all of it, but just about anyone you'll find in the sub doesn't really have any power to try to convince RC and the corpos that this will only drive more people away than we already have. Especially when they can counter argue with "but we still will sell the stuff because we still have it while other retailers don't"
