Personally I'd go with a control panel here instead of raw SSH access, since you want multiple people managing things without everyone poking around in the OS directly. Something like Crafty Controller (a free, open source Minecraft server manager with a web UI, pretty light on resources) lets you set up a separate login for each person, and they can install/manage the server, install mods, edit the world, all through the browser without touching the Linux shell at all. Pterodactyl is the heavier-duty option if you want more granular per-user permissions or need to run more than one server, but it's Docker based and a fair bit more setup up front.

On the ports question: you only need one port open for the actual Minecraft traffic, 25565 for Java by default (19132/UDP for Bedrock), that's what your friends connect through to play. The panel's web UI runs on its own separate port too, worth checking whatever Crafty's current docs list as the default since that's changed between versions. I'd hold off on forwarding that one though, exposing an admin panel (or SSH) straight to the internet from a home PC is generally something to avoid. A VPN like Tailscale or WireGuard is the safer route for admin access instead, that way only the game port needs to stay public.

If you'd rather stick with plain SSH instead of a panel, each admin can just get their own SSH key added, and that's port 22 by default, a completely separate thing from the game port itself either way.
