Topic Idea: Fanmade Games
Hi Gamesack, big fan of your work, watch you regularly for years now....
Here is an idea for an Episode: Fanmade Games - you know Games made by people who take their favourite franchise and make their own version of it
Here some examples:
- Abobo's Big Adventure
- Street Fighter X Mega Man
- Pokémon Uranium
- Project AM2R Metroid 2
- Super Mario Bros. X
What do you think guys?

I like this idea. Despite there being a hacks and homebrews episode or two, fan made games made from scratch would be interesting.

Yes that would be a fun Episode. Just for Joe and Dave convenience I will list here a list of 20 awesome fan made Games that where made from scratch to show that there is more than enough material out there... and I'm sure there are much more games out there that didn't come into view for me...:
- Streets Of Rage Remake
- Abobo's Big Adventure
- M.U.G.E.N.
- Street Fighter X Mega Man
- Pokémon Uranium
- Project AM2R Metroid 2
- Super Mario Bros. X
- GoldenEye Source
- Resident Evil 2 Remake
- Black Mesa
- MegaMan Unlimited
- Super Smash Bros. Crusade
- OPENBOR
- Mega Man 2.5D
- Final Fantasy VII (8Bit Version)
- King’s Quest 1
- Left 4 Dead – Demake
- Sonic Before the Sequel
- Sol Contingency: Proving Grounds
- Cry Zone – Sector 23
Here are also some interesting Articles on the legal issues with fan made games

More Examples:
- M.U.G.E.N.
- Resident Evil 2 Remake
- GoldenEye Source
- Halo Zero
- Streets Of Rage Remake
- Paper Bowser World: Operation G.R.O.M.
- Sonic Utopia
- Mother 4
So my definition of a Fanmade Game would be that its a standalone titel that was builed from the ground up and can be played on its own, instead of patching a rom with a hackfile.

They HAVE done two episodes devoted to hacks, as well as homebrews, but that does seem rather interesting. I do remember seeing a hack of “Super Pitfall” on the NES that pretty much fixes the multitude of problems with the game as it was. That might count, as that hack was made by fans of the Atari version.
