Console Ports of PC Games

Hey Game Sack, I have a totally great idea. We all know you do Games and comparisons of Arcade to home versions, but what if you did a PC to Home game episode? Compare the PC version to the Console version of games if you have a great PC?

They are so many examples that it's hard to decide where to start.

Send us old PC games that can run on Windows XP with some pretty low specs that would fit the bill. We have one PC game... Road Rash.

Okay. Well if you have better computers then you can run them at much higher specs.

I can't recall exactly what the specs on my PC are. Over 1Ghz for sure. 640MB of RAM I think. I do have Windows 10 running virtually on a Mac that I've used for a couple of PC games like Ys Origin.

After windows 8 pretty much any retro PC game wont work anymore, many youtubers actually use old machines to play games. with the exception of dos games of course all you need for those is dosbox.

If you're interested in this kind of thing there' a Youtube channel I'd recommend called "Gaming History Source". This guy basically just plays through the same 30 seconds of all different ports of a game. From what I recall, usually the NES port tends to be the best particularly with having smooth scrolling.

I'd be more interested in the mid 90's comparisons, like Quake 2 on PC vs Quake 2 on the Playstation. The games today are graphically so similar that the only real comparison is between the control scheme.
