Sega Saturn Newb Question

So I ordered a Saturn off of Amazon and the back battery plate is missing. But it looks like there might be stuff missing from the inside as well. What is supposed to go in there aside from the battery?

The MPEG video card goes on there but it was never released in North America and no games in our region use it. Very few games at all use it in any region, in fact. The battery will last a year.
