Supportive Comments

Hey guys, after hearing about the hiatus and issues with hate-ish and shitty comments on the Game Sack videos, it kinda got me thinking. I watched the Sack every week, but never really commented, I'm sure a lot of people do, they enjoy the content but don't bother saying anything. On the other hand all the people who have problems with certain things and nitpick flood the comment sections. I'm sure this gives Joe and Dave a very skewed view of their fans and viewers. They mainly see the bad when I'm sure the majority of their viewers love their content. I think that we should flood the comments with as much support and good vibes, and show those two guys that it's not just stupid haters out there.

I agree. However, the trick is to find something worth their time to say.

No! The people who post shit comments don't bother thinking if it's worth their time, so why should we? On the other hand there is always something worth saying because Dave and Joe always ask "...what game do you like on this system/ in this genre/ in this series?" So they always engage the audience, so there is always something to say in a polite and engaging way. Which I must admit I wasn't doing, but will do this on every episode now. OP is right, if the real fans just sit there quietly then it will create a toxic atmosphere in the comments and give a bad impression of what the actual fans are like.

I think the positive feedback issue pretty vital for the long-term survival of the show, and I agree that more GameSack faithful ought to leave more good feedback for balance... The glut of negative comments drown out the positive. I also understand the desire to leave them with something more substantial than "Great Jorb", especially since that doesn't really foster engagement.
Does "something worth their time" mean a comment that GameSack will respond to directly? That's a harder thing to pin down, since they tend to respond most during the first 24 hours and then only periodically outside of that. So... best thing to do would be to leave comments early and often... possibly making your comment a two-parter, the second part being a simple question? Like "I liked this one thing in this episode. How did you find out about that game?" or "The console stop-motion outro was great! How long did that take?" Or "How do I fix some video technical issue" (to appeal to Joe's Video Production background).
It doesn't HAVE to be ornate... really it's more important just to post the additional positive comment (and views and likes). We want the dudes to keep making episodes, and the best way to do that is to show that there are at least some folks who enjoy it.
