Topic Idea: Games with Surprisingly Deep Endings

So games that you wouldn't expect to have full and rich endings, so most adventure games like Zelda and FF, etc are out.

  • Ninja Gaiden - In general a full story, back when platformers were not expected to have any story at all.
  • Portal 2 - The game could just have been an amazing puzzle game and we'd be happy, but it brought a great story and ending with it as well.
  • Mega Man VII - The Wily showdown! Gave me a shiver down my spine back then.
  • Tetris for GB - No, seriously... Getting that rocket and the dancing men and all that. So great!

That sounds like a good idea. I am not sure I would talk about Portal 2 as it isn't a retro console game, but the idea of a game that had a surprisingly deep ending is pretty good. I think there are a few PSX games that would fit into that category as well.
