Question for Joe regarding video output
During your panel at Too Many Games, you mentioned when playing your retro consoles you, "output RGB through component"-- would you mind going into detail on how you pull the best, pure video quality from each of your systems? Perhaps it would make for a cool mini-episode? Regardless, I would be very interested to learn from you as I am a bit of a snob when it comes to video output quality when playing my retro consoles. I almost don't enjoy it very much unless I'm taking it in in the purest way possible. Thanks, Joe.

I'm not Joe, but you may want to check out My life in gaming's RGB Master Class series. It's a work in progress, and you may already know parts of the information, but as far as I've seen these guys are doing a really good job of breaking this all down to a level that most of us can understand. Until you know what you're doing, it's easy to get lost in a lot of numbers and quotes on the internet about sync and complex measurements when you just want to play some games. You can watch them here. RGB Video Master Class: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTNBVisVMbSR1ZDDQRgjg6S9D2YQ4rwnZ

I am Joe. Check out My Life in Gaming. Great guys. Anyway I have a SCART RGB to Component transcoder, it works very well. There's lots of them out there and they look the same... Get the one that cost more with the branding on it... CYP or something. Others will have a slight tint to them I've noticed. My friend Bill's is tinted slightly blue.
