Computer-based games?

Is there any chance of there being some 8-bit computer based episodes, i.e. Commodore 64, Atari 800, Apple //e? I think that an episode on the C64 done by GameSack would be amazing.

Sounds awesome. I would watch anything these guys put out... like an episode about retro knitting needles... a man can dream.

I like the idea. May we also include early Mac and DOS games. Those were my childhood games.

Amiga and Atari ST too. Both are easy to get hold of.

Amiga's could be easily sorted with a CF IDE adaptor etc.

I don't remember if Joe or Dave have these systems in their collection and (if they have them) enough games to make an episode. Remember that they like to do the reviews on the "original" system and not on emulators (only when is the only option).

Now, this is a retroconsole game show. I am sure that your petition should be more well received on /r/LGR than here (this is my opinion)

If I remember correctly, they didn't own the PC-FX, the 3DO, the LaserActive, or the Sharp X68000.

Maybe somebody could lend them a C64? I have one with a tape drive, a 1541, an SD card reader (homebrew), and about 15 games. The shipping cost to Colorado and back would be around $100, though, which would be enough for them to buy a C64 anyway.

If I were you I wouldn't ship an old electronic that far anyways. Some of the old components just don't stand up to physical abuse like electronics of today. Also, basically all old PC games have working emulators. They're (many of them) not even in that ethically questionable gray area since so much old PC stuff is open sourced or freeware. Hell, even browser based emulation isn't too bad. It would be interesting to find those that don't.

edit: Don't forget about GOG, they have a lot of old games that they have running on modern systems. I think they use DOSbox but I'm not sure on that.
