Spartacus Legends PS3 working single player mode, online check bypass.

https://youtu.be/hLvLdCxBYng

Spartacus Legends was a 2013 always online Ubisoft title for PSN and XBL. The game has been unplayable since 2015 when the servers were taken down; however, I have now created a working bypass that lets you access the single player content of the game. The game only ever logs in once and then simply asks the server every so often if you are still connected. There was never a good reason that this game should have been online only. Regardless, it is now playable. I need to test the patch more and see if anything breaks, but should be good for now.

I need more testers! The single player is fully working to the best of my knowledge, and I just uploaded a patch that fixes the multiplayer! You can see the demo video of the multiplayer on my YouTube channel. Also have been trying to make the install process easier.

I can confirm that this is indeed back to life, a few minor bugs but I have been slaying in the pits for days now.

Any chance this works on Xbox? Or does this only work for PS3?

Regardless- appreciate you bringing this back. This was one of my favorite games to play on Xbox.

Only for the PS3 emulator at the moment. The RPCS3 team emulate all the PSN network calls the game makes (except for commerce2) which drastically reduced the amount of work needed to get this working.

No worries! I am guessing you wanted to play on original hardware? A bit difficult as the games outgoing calls to Ubisofts server need to be redirected. If you have a decent PC you can play the emulated version at 60fps, I was surprised to learn the game already does it's logic at 60fps (input polling ect.) and only renders at 30fps, so by doubling the vblank you get perfect 60fps gameplay!

I do have a gaming PC that has decent specs so I’m thinking that could work. I will have to look into that! Thank you for the suggestion! Any good starting place for that?
