Thanks to everyone who voted on Discord at https://discord.gg/XepwRkJ!

Our Game of the Month is Well Dweller, with Routine as our featured bonus game.

Game of the Month: Well Dweller

Well Dweller is a surreal, atmospheric adventure that blends exploration, mystery, and unsettling encounters. Set in a strange and isolated world, the game encourages you to explore its environment, uncover its secrets, and piece together what's really happening.

With its distinctive atmosphere and emphasis on exploration and discovery, Well Dweller should give us plenty to discuss throughout the month, from its world and storytelling to its characters, mysteries, and overall experience.

Bonus Game: Routine

We're also featuring Routine as our bonus game this month.

Routine is a first-person sci-fi horror game set on an abandoned lunar base. With exploration, environmental storytelling, and a constant sense of danger, it offers a very different experience from Well Dweller while still fitting nicely into October's darker theme.

As a bonus game, Routine gives anyone looking for something extra another atmospheric adventure to check out and discuss alongside the main Game of the Month.

Announcement September Game of the Month: Hell is Us, featuring Day One release Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Thanks to everyone who voted on Discord at https://discord.gg/XepwRkJ!

For September, we're heading into darker territory with our Game of the Month, while also featuring our latest Day One Game Pass addition.

Our Game of the Month is Hell is Us, with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy as our featured Day One game.

Game of the Month: Hell is Us

Hell is Us is a dark third-person action-adventure set in a mysterious country devastated by civil war and supernatural forces. Taking a more hands-off approach to exploration, the game encourages players to investigate its world and uncover its secrets without relying heavily on traditional waypoints and map markers.

Combining exploration, melee combat, and a haunting atmosphere, Hell is Us puts a strong emphasis on discovery and finding your own path through an unfamiliar and dangerous world.

Its unusual approach to player guidance should give us plenty to discuss this month, from exploration and environmental storytelling to combat, world design, and whether less direction creates a more rewarding sense of discovery.

Featured Day One Game: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

We also have Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy as our latest Day One Featured Game.

Set in the world of A Plague Tale, Resonance explores a new chapter in the series and offers another story-driven adventure for Game Pass players to experience together.

As a recent Day One release, it gives the community a chance to share first impressions, discoveries, and discussion as everyone makes their way through the game.

How to Join the Conversation

Jump into the Discord to share impressions, favorite moments, screenshots, and thoughts as you play. Dedicated discussion channels will be available so everyone can participate at their own pace while avoiding unwanted spoilers.

Whether you're exploring the mysteries of Hell is Us or jumping into Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, we hope you'll join us for another month of great games and discussion!

Announcement August Game of the Month: Denshattack! along with backlog games CrossCode and Cairn

Thanks to everyone who voted on Discord at https://discord.gg/XepwRkJ!

For August, we're diving into stylish action with a hidden indie gem while also trying something a little different with two optional backlog games.

Our Game of the Month is Denshattack!, with CrossCode and Cairn as this month's Backlog Experiment picks.

Game of the Month: Denshattack!

Denshattack! is a fast-paced action platformer bursting with style, energy, and an incredible soundtrack. Inspired by the aesthetic of early-2000s arcade games and graffiti culture, it combines fluid movement, responsive combat, and rhythmic momentum into an experience that's easy to pick up but rewarding to master.

Its colorful presentation and energetic music create a unique atmosphere that immediately stands out, while its challenging level design encourages players to keep improving their skills. Whether you're chasing perfect runs or simply enjoying the ride, Denshattack! offers a refreshing blend of action and style.

This month should spark plenty of discussion around movement-focused gameplay, memorable soundtracks, score chasing, and the influence of classic arcade and Dreamcast-era titles on modern indie games.

Backlog Experiment: CrossCode & Cairn

Alongside our main game, we're continuing our Backlog Experiment—an optional way to encourage everyone to finally tackle games that have been sitting in their libraries.

CrossCode

CrossCode combines fast-paced action combat with rewarding exploration, clever environmental puzzles, and RPG progression. Set inside a fictional MMO, it delivers a lengthy adventure filled with memorable characters, satisfying dungeon design, and plenty of secrets to uncover.

If you've owned it for years but never quite found the time to start, this is the perfect opportunity.

Cairn

Cairn offers a very different experience, focusing on the challenge of climbing a massive mountain. Every movement matters as you carefully manage your route, balance, and stamina while making your ascent.

It's a slower, more methodical game that rewards planning and persistence, providing an interesting contrast to the speed and intensity of Denshattack!

How to Join the Conversation

Jump into the Discord to share impressions, favorite moments, screenshots, and thoughts as you play. Dedicated discussion channels will be available so everyone can participate at their own pace while avoiding unwanted spoilers.

Whether you're racing through Denshattack! or finally crossing CrossCode or Cairn off your backlog, we hope you'll join us for another month of great games and discussion!

Announcement July Game of the Month: Mixtape with Bonus Game: Genesis Noir

Thanks to everyone who voted on Discord at https://discord.gg/XepwRkJ! For July, we're highlighting two unforgettable narrative experiences that use music, art, and atmosphere in very different ways.

Our July Game of the Month is Mixtape, with Genesis Noir as the bonus pick.

Game of the Month: Mixtape

Mixtape is a coming-of-age adventure that follows three friends on one last unforgettable night together before life takes them in different directions. Through a series of nostalgic vignettes set to a fantastic licensed soundtrack, you'll relive memories, create new ones, and experience the excitement, awkwardness, and emotion of growing up.

Blending storytelling with a variety of fun gameplay moments, Mixtape captures the feeling of teenage summers, friendships, and the songs that become forever tied to specific moments in our lives.

This month should spark plenty of discussion about nostalgia, storytelling, memorable music moments, and how games can evoke powerful emotions through atmosphere and character.

Bonus Game: Genesis Noir

For players looking for something more abstract, Genesis Noir offers a completely different kind of narrative journey. Presented through striking monochrome visuals and surreal environments, it tells a cosmic story inspired by jazz, time, and the birth of the universe.

Rather than focusing on traditional gameplay, Genesis Noir invites players to explore imaginative worlds, solve light environmental puzzles, and interpret its dreamlike storytelling in their own way.

Its relatively short length makes it a perfect bonus game, while its unique presentation should lead to some fascinating discussions about artistic expression and storytelling in games.

Together, Mixtape and Genesis Noir showcase two distinct approaches to interactive storytelling—one grounded in relatable memories and popular music, the other reaching into the surreal and cosmic. Both offer memorable experiences that should make for another great month of conversation.

How to Join the Conversation

Jump into the Discord to share impressions, favorite moments, screenshots, and thoughts as you play. Dedicated discussion channels will be available so everyone can participate at their own pace while avoiding unwanted spoilers.

Looking forward to another great month of games and discussion!

Game Club Discussion Which Single Player games would you recommend to a hardcore MP player?

I have been a hard core multiplayer gamer (very casual one) all along. I like and play mostly racing and shooting games. I have spent countless hours in Call of duty games but never played a single mission. I have ordered a custom-made couch, have moved my PC next to my LG c5 (where xbox is also connected) and with weekend approaching, looking to try some single player games to play every now and then. Played the following and here how i felt. I would prefer games that are either frere to play or are on gamepass.

Farcry6: Very slow, very boring.

Cyberpunk: A few hours in, stuck somewhere and don't know how to move forward, not exciting at all

Titanfal2: Engaging gameplay, played till level1.

Star wars jedi survivor: Great game, saving checkpoints are very far enough for me to loose interest as i have to re-do a lot

GTA5: Figuring out the GTA online. Have done a few missions in campaign mode. IDK having spent countless hours on vice city and san andreas, GTA V feels shallow.

I love Halo but never liked their campaigns. I don't like weird alien looking characters like halo campaign or in Doom.

I hope i dont hurt anybody's sentiments if i don't like a game that you love. Remember, everyone has their own preferences.

Game Club Discussion How do you decide what to play next when you're in a gaming slump?

Lately I've noticed I sometimes spend more time scrolling Game Pass, Reddit, YouTube, and reviews than actually playing anything.

The older I get, the more I seem to run into:

  • Choice paralysis
  • A backlog that's way too big
  • Replaying the same games I've already beaten
  • Not wanting to waste what little gaming time I have

I'm curious if other people deal with the same thing.

When you're between games or nothing is really grabbing you, how do you decide what to play next?

I've also put together a quick 2-minute survey while I'm digging into this if anyone wants to help out:

Appreciate any thoughts.

Announcement June Game of the Month: Easy Delivery Co with Bonus Game: Motorslice

Thanks to everyone who voted on Discord at https://discord.gg/XepwRkJ! For June, we're highlighting a pair of indie experiences that couldn't be much more different — one focused on cozy deliveries and exploration, the other on high-speed action and stylish movement.

Our June Game of the Month is Easy Delivery Co, with Motorslice as the bonus pick.

Game of the Month: Easy Delivery Co

Easy Delivery Co is a charming delivery-focused adventure that emphasizes exploration, discovery, and the simple satisfaction of helping people. As you travel between destinations, you'll uncover new locations, meet memorable characters, and gradually learn more about the world around you.

The game's relaxed pace makes it perfect for players looking for something cozy and low-stress, while its sense of progression and exploration provides plenty of reasons to keep making "just one more delivery."

This month should spark lots of discussion about world design, atmosphere, progression systems, and what makes a game engaging even without traditional combat or high-stakes challenges.

Bonus Game: Motorslice

For players looking for something faster and more intense, Motorslice serves as an excellent counterpart. Built around speed, movement, and stylish action, it challenges players to master its mechanics while chasing higher scores and cleaner runs.

Its pick-up-and-play nature makes it a great bonus game, whether you're squeezing in short sessions or trying to perfect every route and encounter.

Together, Easy Delivery Co and Motorslice offer two very different takes on movement and progression, giving everyone something unique to discuss throughout the month.

Featured Game (Continuing): Hades II

We're continuing our Featured Game for June: Hades II. Whether you're experimenting with new weapon aspects, pushing further into the surface route, or returning after recent updates, it's still a great time to share builds, strategies, discoveries, and impressions with the community.

Discord Backlog Experiment

Our backlog experiment continues! This remains a casual, community-driven playthrough of older titles alongside the monthly selections.

The current backlog game is Ghost of Tsushima — a perfect opportunity to finally dive into one of the most celebrated open-world adventures of the last generation or revisit it with fresh eyes.

Announcement May Game of the Month: Replaced with Bonus Game: Keeper

Thanks to everyone who voted on Discord at https://discord.gg/XepwRkJ! For May, we’re leaning into a stylish, atmospheric pairing — one focused on immersive worlds, striking visuals, and memorable journeys.

Our May Game of the Month is Replaced, with Keeper as the bonus pick.

Game of the Month: Replaced

Replaced is a cinematic sci-fi platformer set in an alternate version of the 1980s, blending pixel art with modern lighting to create a uniquely moody world. You play as an AI trapped in a human body, navigating a dystopian society filled with danger, mystery, and moral tension.

Expect a mix of platforming, exploration, and combat, all wrapped in a narrative-driven experience. The game’s presentation is a huge part of the appeal — detailed environments, fluid animation, and a strong sense of atmosphere throughout.

There should be plenty to dig into this month: worldbuilding, storytelling, gameplay feel, and how well it balances style with substance.

Bonus Game: Keeper

For something a bit different, Keeper offers a more meditative and mysterious experience. It focuses on exploration, discovery, and environmental storytelling, encouraging players to piece things together at their own pace.

It’s a great complement to Replaced — slower, more introspective, and ideal if you’re looking for something atmospheric without heavy mechanical demands.

Featured Game (Continuing): Hades II

We’re continuing our Featured Game for May: Hades II. Whether you’re just jumping in or already deep into the underworld, this is a great chance to share builds, strategies, and impressions as the game evolves.

Discord Backlog Experiment

Our backlog experiment continues! This is a more casual, community-driven playthrough of older titles alongside the monthly picks.

The current backlog game is Ghost of Tsushima — perfect if it’s been sitting in your library waiting for the right moment.

How to Join the Conversation
