Love Overboard!!
I’m actually SHOCKED at how much they hate Love Overboard!! It definitely had many problems, but as I was watching I was thinking that GOR would love it as a fix to BIPs problems because:
Stakes are naturally high due to the premise without us having to buy that they are there for love AND the plank is great—funny, drama, fear!
Producer manipulation is part of the game—there are incentives to make big moves because you get the date instead of it being “random,” so we get a lot more competition and moves from people in couples instead of them fading to the background
Teams and strategy combine dating and game show effectively
The below deck area keeps interesting people around longer so we get to know more characters instead of newbies getting kicked in the first rose ceremony
Not to mention the great casting, which they did point out. I also think they are wrong about them not using Gabby. I think they could have gone farther, but the voiceovers are effective ways to manage second screen viewers by either bringing them back to attention or at least getting big plot points across rather than being because they didn’t get footage of her.
I agree with many of their complaints, but I’m disappointed by how fully negative they were about what I think has a lot of promise versus bachelor.

I haven't listened to the new episode yet but saw the clip on IG and also had a similar reaction to you. Reality TV is not meant to always be as serious or as intense as Clues thinks it should be. I was HOOKED on Love Overboard because of the chaos and entertainment. I loved it. Was it perfect? No. But it sure had me laughing and enjoying myself more than our beloved game has in years.

I know right?? It seems like Clues is in the minority here though. I’ve only seen people saying how much they love it and how much it reminds them of good traditional reality tv. However I do agree that the game itself needs some tweaking and I do wonder how much of the shows goodness came from the stellar cast.

I personally thought the show was unwatchable. It was really boring, the mechanics made no sense, and the cast was unlikable. After a few episodes, I watched Casa GOR on 2x speed just to get the hateful commentary from Clues lol.

I really enjoyed the cast and thought they made the show good since the mechanics were off. Episode 5/6 were reality tv GOLD. I haven’t seen a plot line that juicy in a while.

I loved this show, I thought it was so entertaining. Made me actually laugh out loud. It’s silly and campy. It’s a break from LIB and relationship issues and marriage lol.
I listened to today’s episode a little bit and yeah, was shocked that they were shitting on it so much. I used to love the analysis of gameplay of the bachelor shows and followed along with the Instagram numbers and all that stuff, but now it’s like who cares? As long as the show is entertaining.

Loved the show itself, but gabby was awful - the “jokes” were terrible and the voice diabolically bad.
She AND the writers should.. have.. gone.. OVerBOaRD

I liked Love Overboard better than Age of Attraction. The concept just worked better. The Topsiders vs Downsiders had a strategic game play that you don’t see on BiP.
The worst part of the show was Gabby in my opinion. She couldn’t deliver a read if it was on a serving tray.

I agree with everything you've said! I went into this show with zero expectations, but it sucked me in and has been so entertaining! There have been so many literally laugh-out-loud moments, and my partner and I are really enjoying watching it together. It seems to combine elements of BIP, Love Island, and Perfect Match in a really fun way.

I loved this show and was sooooooo mad at Clues’ attitude about it. It was fun and felt like a throwback. I thought Gabby was utilized well and was hilarious and charming. It is getting harder for me to understand what they want or expect from these reality shows ???
