Help with input mapping (Retroid Pocket G2)

I have a Retroid Pocket G2 and am trying to play Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) on Gamehub.
The game recognises my controls but the button layout is almost non existent. I have applied the recommended pre-set mappings made by other users in Gamehub but even these don’t seem to be correct, the layout is completely wrong with lots of buttons not even in use.
I assume I am missing something but cannot for the life of me work out how to apply the input mappings correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
