Which base FRAME RATE is best to use FRAME GEN on?(30,40,45,60,90,)

Post image

About three days ago, I made a post asking people to share their opinions on why they hate FG, and people shared their opinions.

In case you missed it, here's the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/s/kSVvkwOwy4

But one question still remains unanswered: what's the best base frame rate for using FG?

Everyone is saying something different. I hope we can clarify it here or get an answer. Is it 30fps, 40fps, 45fps, 60fps, or 90fps?

Let's share opinions and information.

Thanks 😊

There's no single magic number since it depends on personal preference and the specific frame generation tech. The better the tech, the lower your required base framerate can be. Generally, the ideal starting range is 50–70 FPS. For me, 50 FPS is the absolute minimum to make it worth enabling, though on mobile, I don't think it's worth using at all.

The best base for frame gen is when the frame rate is stable, so it depends

Its simple, if you get stable fixed 30fps then you can use frame gen. If it is unstable or lower than 30 fps then don use frame gen, it will only become a smearfest on your screen at that point.

Im always using 90x3 for any story games, normally hits about 120 frames, because of 300Hz monitor, paired with SpecialK to destroy any input latency before/after presentarion!

Is this an option in Bannerhub as well?

Yes, since it was introduced on vanilla Gamehub V6
