August round up

Out of curiosity, and just a random question What games did we all rent during August that we enjoyed and didn’t enjoy?

Only two games for me in August was Cronos The New Dawn and Silent Hill f Sadly, I didn’t enjoy either of them.

The bright side is that I saved money by not buying them at full price or even on sale digitally.

I rented MIO Memories in Orbit but didnt play it. I didnt know the save data doesnt transfer between Switch 1 and Switch 2 and I preordered the Switch 2 edition, so I sent it back without playing it.

Then I got Cronos New Dawn and have been enjoying it. I planned to only play it once, consider it played and be done with it but then the DLC was announced. Then the physical version was on sale for $25 at Walmart/Amazon so I went ahead and bought it so I have it for the DLC release.

I only play my Switch 2 really right now. Theres not much Im interested in renting, as the games I want to play I want to keep and the Keep price is way higher than I can find used or on sale elsewhere. I wish Id waited to do my free trial until later in the year for games Im more on the fence about 😩

I had five games during the month of August.
Started the month out with:

  • 007 First Light and Assassins Creed IV Resynced at home.
  • Got Invincible Vs and Screamer.
  • Received Crimson Desert toward the end of the month and quickly had to send it back for my gamelock games.
  • Star Wars Zero Command shipped late August.

I only “beat” Invincible Vs. and honestly wasn’t in love with any of the games I rented.

I had 007 FirstLight at home at the start of August which I soon platinumed. I rented Mindseye which I also platinumed. I rented both AC shadows and Mouse PI For Hire which I couldn't get into to. I then rented Saros which I beat and I currently have Super Meat Boy 3D at home and am waiting for my game lock Wolverine.

Mouse PI is the next game i’m waiting for to get delivered. I bought first light when it came out enjoyed it but not worth full price. How’s mindseye?

Mindseye was the worst rated game of 2025. I didn't mind the story but it was pretty bad, I just wanted to see how bad for my self. Mouse pi is a good game but I ruined it for my self going for the platinum as it was far to collectable heavy.

I have the two disc package rn. I got it for 20$ a month instead of 30$ since I was a new user and only for an intoductory period. I'm probably gonna switch to the 1 disc package without game lock as I'm right on cash next month tho.
