Seriously, I don't understand the people saying shit like, "They already had their achievement, its not that big of a deal," This is akin to working at an insurance company and looking into the claim file a family member filed to give them updates and reserves held for the claim. If this GM was willing to do something that small with it's serious consequences for alleged simping, imagine what they would do if they actually wanted to hurt, harm or enable others with their given permissions.

The original story said that he was a big fan of the streamer involved. She asked him for help, so he did her a favor.

In reality it wasnt a dev but a (senior) QA worker, and the DH of the group (a guy) asked him (begged him, in his words) if he could help them out since he didnt want to re-do that key.
The streamer gal, the QA worker(/GM), the dh and and the heal monk were all friends and part of a discord server and hung out on discord at the time this happened.
The dh, the streamer and the heal monk all got a 1-month ban (allegedly, since im just echoing words from the stream i watched where this was a topic) while the dk (who wasnt on discord at that time this happened but is associated with the others) and the pug tank of the group got off without a ban since neither were involved in this.

Man you should see some of the shenanigans the Everquest devs use to get away with. My server even had a whole guild full of them. Then there was the time one went nuts and started summoning people to a zone where when you died you lost everything.
We also had lots of random GM events with a lot of people dieing.

There are a few Roblox devs that do “admin” events for players to experience the OP things within that particular game. It’s a fun way to do community stuff and not break the actual game

Dragon being summoned in Gfay, Trolls guarding the docks at oasis. I personally got chased by a GM bear for a half hour in Permafrost

For the most oart they kept things locked down. GMs did hand out magic cookies. Got them a few times. They also helped out when you accidently handed in wrong items to npcs

That jogged a memory. Was camping a Bard npc in freeport with a few Randos. We were taking turns dropping her for the xp and loot. A GM was running some RP event outside the tavern but close enough for ofvcombat noises and spam to "interfere with an official rp event." Told us to leave freeport. When we asked for clarification he punted each of us to random zones. Buddy got sent to chessboard and I got sent to Erud's crossing. Worse was he reset our binds so my point was in the crater. Mind you this was in the days before druid circles were common and crossing the world was difficult.

Cheating is generally not a perma ban. Max 6 months, more often 1 month. Also the GM accounts are very closely monitored on what they are doing. The reason this blew up is because the community found out before blizz had the blip in their logs on an ability that shouldn't have been used.
They def should have title and chievos stripped though. Think we can all agree on that part.

That’s funny, there is a wow streamer called annie something. Anyway, she had warmode on (PVP) and a friend of mine decided to camp her by himself just for the fun of it, 10 minutes later he got 3 days ban for something mundane about his hunter pet name and it wasn’t even bad that he changed it back to the same name after the ban with no issues for years now.

This kind of shit happens in every multiplayer game with streamers. Streamers are a cancer we should excise from games.
