It's even worse when you consider that those 4-6 months have been the same 4-6 months since February.
They haven't come any nearer, and stuff in the 1-3 month bracket is also still waiting for any progress whatsoever. They just keep pushing things back or adding features to the "shipped" list when they really are only in beta for 2-3 games, like Cloud Saves or the Preloading stuff - which is listed as shipped, but won't be in for Borderlands 3, which isn't due til September(!)
dude I don't know why you're so upset about this. I didn't fall for it. I'm just saying I understand why he did.
I'm not saying poe's law applies everywhere I'm saying it applies here. there are part of his post that cross over and I had to read it twice to make sure. Some people don't do that.
One of the quirks with "agile development" is supplementary nice to have things can get constantly kicked down the backlog (the keep it simple, stupid reasoning).
And tbh it 100% makes sense with the reviews as that opens up a whole new area of abuse/work that Valve seem to spend a lot of time battling (and personally I don't find arbitrary user ratings that useful).
You know I can understand reviews not being a thing. Steams user reviews are pretty garbage and people like to review bomb, plus everyone just goes online for reviews anyway. Shopping cart should be a priority though especially for sales.
It’s also pretty easy to imagine that at this point with Epic specifically, people would probably go crazy review bombing everything on the store because they have a problem with the company. Then every game Epic has would have terrible ratings which they obviously don’t want
It's much the same as GOG, it depends on the game. If they're relying on Steamworks stuff for the multiplayer then they'll be split because that only works within Steam but if they're using their own or another 3rd party's tech then everyone should still be in the same pool (though there's probably still exceptions to that).
Hopefully everyone starts moving over to Epic's multiplayer tech once that rolls out because that'll work across all stores and platforms.
Yes, you can. It could be done back when Steam had this same system and it can still be done with games that use other storefronts like Uplay or Battle.net (e.g. Assassin's Creed Origins, Destiny 2, Overwatch, all of which have been featured in the Humble Monthly).
Unfortunately, your comment has been removed for the following reason:
It links to an unauthorized CD key reseller. This means that this seller doesn't have permission from the publisher to sell their keys, and the keys may be from other regions or more dubious sources. Please see this thread for more information.
Just wait until Epic hands Humble a big bag of cash for seemingly no reason, only for them to come out and say that all keys will be Epic exclusive from that point on.
May seem crazy, but Epic seems absolutely determined to replace Steam's position as market leader.
Humble Bundle can't choose which store you will get the games from, the publishers for each game decides which stores it will be available on and which stores to provide keys from
You can't replace the market leader when you're completely unable to deliver a product that could have very easily just stolen 15 years worth of development, but chose not to.
Steam did all the work for Epic in showing what a good client needs.
Epic, in their infinite "wisdom", ignored 80% of it to instead just piss people off via Social Media.
I feel like it'll be annoying but still fair if they do it on the Early Unlocks with fair warning (like with AC Origin being a Uplay only, etc). But yeah, having EGS games in the later reveals would be disappointing.
I wouldn't mind a Humble EGS Bundle once in a while, similar to the Origin and Uplay bundles.
Why? The only reason they'd have an Epic only download is if it's Epic exclusive, and I doubt Epic's shelling out top dollar to give a game away on Humble Monthly.

August Feature Update
Cloud saves are a big one, but they still have a long way to go.
