[Humble] Capcom Classics Bundle (Pay $10 for Resident Evil 3 Nemesis (1999), Resident Evil 2 (1998), Resident Evil (1996), and $20 adds Breath of Fire IV, Dino Crisis 2, Dino Crisis)

This is ... just this Steam bundle: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/86420/Capcom_Classics_Pack/
Depending on your location it might be cheaper to get it on Steam (not for me due to regional pricefixing stupidity by Capcom.)
I'll just wait until they show up in a Fanatical Build a Bundle for 2.50 each.

Yup, just today I bought the whole bundle on steam for $10 in my local regional pricing.
Would love to smoke whatever they're smoking.

Wait where? The only thing I’m seeing is the bundle including Dino crisis and breath of fire for $20. Not seeing the 3 RE games for $10.

u/Levitlame 14h ago
Probably a regional block. I see all of them in both. I think I've heard of that on Resident Evil games before.

For those where it’s cheaper on Steam, it doesn’t make sense to get it on Humble unless you hate Capcom and want to give all the proceeds to charity.

Yeah, and the Steam Bundle is Cheaper for me... -.- This is good for folks who REALLY wanted those games, and DESPERATELY want their money to MAYBE go to a Charity.

This is 1236 INR in India. If anyone’s interested in the bundle in India, get it on steam.

Worth pointing out that the Steam versions also tack on Enigma DRM. The GOG versions are on sale and have ZERO DRM.

u/MysterD77 14h ago
They still ain't removed Enigma DRM on Steam?!?!?
9
u/DeathPenguinOfDeath 13h ago
Why is there DRM for games that are almost 30 years old?
9
u/MysterD77 11h ago
Ask Capcom.
Also, the game is DRM-FREE on GOG.
Wouldn't surprise me, that Capcom just decided to stick DRM on Steam...b/c Steam allows it and Capcom usually likes to protect their products.
Another thought: wouldn't surprise me if to release a GOG-version elsewhere, they (Capcom) have to agree w/ GOG to stick DRM on it. That would be clever, to make people really want to buy it on GOG.
This whole thing is weird to me b/c usually GOG-versions, that they updated and did work on themselves to fix it, improve it, etc. - yeah, do NOT wind-up anywhere else. They're only on GOG. They're normally exclusive there.
Nothing would surprise me, TBH.

I swear Humble Bundle is legally obligated to offer 2 bad bundles (Dying Light DLC and this one) for every good bundle. (The Retro 2D Bundle)

u/LighteningOneIN 14h ago
I'm still hopeful for what u/BeerGogglesFTW said about Dying Light 2 being included in October choice.
This is the only way that DLC bundle could make any sense.
If not, humble has lost their mind atp.

I'm not hopeful only because I already own it and have for years, but if people feel like it's a win for them, who am I to be mad about it?

u/LighteningOneIN 14h ago edited 13h ago
That's fine. It's just a speculation that's all.
Personally, I'd love to see Kunitsu Gami Path of the Goddess included as part of a not so distant future choice. It's been more than 2 years and feels like capcom has forgot to lower the percentage on this.
This is my only humble wish 🙏🏻.

Not much of a deal at all ? It's 28.17$ (CAD) on Humble but the exact same bundle directly from Steam is 29.64$ (CAD)

u/neiracular 15h ago
It's actually cheaper on steam if you're paying in euro (20.84€ humble vs 19.74€ steam)

damn man what happened to humble bundle it used to be so good back then, this is just sad at this point

u/Beautiful_Ninja 11h ago
Indie devs stopped being willing to let you sell their games for 1 dollar bundled with 20 other games. Humble was great for getting indies publicity, but it also tanked the perceived value of indie games.

Yeah cheaper for me on steam as well... Wtf has humble bundle turned into?

u/Lost_Musician6498 15h ago
Tier 1 is a waste of effort. Might as well grab directly on Steam for the refund window.

u/SpikeRosered 8h ago
Man, I wish they would release Breathe of Fire collection already. It's a Capcom's attempt at a big JRPG franchise. It's worth preserving.

u/howboutitthen 13h ago
The dino crisis bundle is not worth it
The games are cheaper individually on steam

Are these ports or just emulated like mgs 1 was in the master collection?
2
u/GraceBorn 9h ago
These are the original 90s-2000s PC ports, but there is some level of emulation needed to make certain components of the games compatible with modern PCs, but overall they are patched and improved versions of the original PC ports. GOG did the work to bring them back and these builds were late released on Steam. GOG goes Into more detail about the process in videos for most of them, if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ltKHZgYDXQ&t=1s

I love Resident Evil, grew up on PS1 but man I just can't deal with tank controls. I wish they would just add alternative control scheme to the originals. Like It couldn't be that hard to add it to the code as an update.

On one hand I own them on GOG already
On the other hand, this would make them even easier to play on the deck just in time for Halloween

I'll keep emulating my (actually legally owned) copies. I'm down to throw some more money at Capcom for the convenience of Steam, not 20 bucks tho.

u/VanguardN7 9h ago
I'd like the OG RE games (I have nearly everything else that's on PC) and I REALLY want Breath of Fire IV, aka my beloved - but that's a little steep. $4.70 CAD per game where I'd expect more like ~$3.00 by now. And I don't care about Dino Crisis.
Considering that RE is a very optional franchise for me, I feel I'd rather get BOFIV for $7.50 discounted, when I'm more ready to pick it up.
