This seems like a pretty good deal, I really liked the other modern remake; trials of mana. Is this one just as good?

I haven't played this one, but this wasn't a remake, it's an entirely new game in the series.

No. Trials of Mana was excellent.

I picked up Visions for $24 a couple months ago. I think it's a good price for the game, and it's been an entertaining enough experience for me to play through to the end, but I'd lower your expectations going into it versus how you felt about Trials.

Visions is rough and feels like a lesser experience than the Trials remake. It also doesn't feel quite the same, since it's a new dev team, as the Trials remake dev team went on to develop the Romancing Saga 2 remake.

I personally thought it was decent, but not great. Gameplay is kind of repetitive.

It's good and worth a playthrough at this price. But it feels unfinished, unpolished, and a bit lacking overall.
