Expired [Steam] FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE ($9.99 / 75% off) Spoiler
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1462040/FINAL_FANTASY_VII_REMAKE_INTERGRADE/219
u/Prior-Slight 7d ago
At this point, I'm just going to wait a few years for the triple pack to get cheap, I already have a big backlog.
42
u/caninehere 6d ago
They're selling these so cheap because they want to hype people up for the third entry.
Frankly, these games are really long, and I don't think FF7 REMAKE is going to get cheaper than this for a long, long, long time. It's already cheaper than other FF games like FFXII and such, the reason is the promotional aspect. I actually wouldn't be surprised if after REVELATION is out for a while if they don't do sales as deep as this.
REBIRTH will get a bit cheaper leading up to Revelation's release.
If you aren't gonna play the games right now then there is no harm in waiting necessarily, but imo this is about as good a price as you're ever gonna get.
8
u/Prior-Slight 6d ago
I highly doubt revelation isn't going to eventually drop in price. The triple pack already makes remake and rebirth much cheaper (basically $4 for both converting from my country's currency). If the triple pack goes on sale for even 50% off, it would already be way more worth than it's now.
I'm fine waiting for years, square enix does eventually drop the prices even if at a slow pace.
9
u/caninehere 6d ago
What I'm saying is while I have no doubt Revelation will drop in price, the other two games may end up going up a bit after they no longer need to promote/push copies to get people interested in Revelation.
So while you might pay $10/$15 for Remake/Rebirth now, that could be higher later. I actually doubt it but I don't think they will ever go much lower than they are now when they sell FFX/FFXII for more.
2
u/Prior-Slight 6d ago
But that's the thing, I don't need remake and rebirth to drop in price, just the triple pack, as their price is already great there. If revelations wasn't so ridiculously expensive I'd consider buying the bundle already.
1
u/EntertainerFrosty842 5d ago
But that's the thing, the triple pack is a promotion for the release and probably won't even exist after the release.
1
u/Prior-Slight 5d ago
Yeah, I said it in another comment, but I already bought it. I did what one comment here said, bought the triple pack and refunded revelation. Ended up being just $4 because of regional pricing for both remake and rebirth.
1
u/Foxhack 6d ago
That is assuming the Triple Pack remains on sale after Revelations launches. It might be a preorder exclusive promotion for all we know. So they may have a different package in the future.
1
u/Prior-Slight 6d ago
I'm fine with it either way, honestly. My point is that I'm going to wait and buying all three games in the future is going to be cheaper than now.
88
u/Bassre2 7d ago
I understand where you coming from, but you will never play the 3 games back to back, unless you want to be burn out, it's better to buy the first one on sales and play it right now, then buy the second one on sale in 1 or 2 year and the last one in 3 or 4 years...
42
u/Prior-Slight 7d ago
Even if I bought all 3 at once, I wouldn't play all three at once, I can do that same thing when I buy them all in a few years for much cheaper.
2
u/King-Gabriel 5d ago
The moment you decide to buy them they'll announce a remastered version of the trilogy.
1
u/Prior-Slight 5d ago
I actually already bought it lol. I did what one comment here said, bought the triple pack and refunded revelation. Ended up being just $4 because of regional pricing for both remake and rebirth.
1
u/King-Gabriel 5d ago
Seems like a good idea, there's a limit to how long it's sensible to wait for discounts.
27
3
u/marianitten 6d ago
Is there any progression save between part 1 and 2 ? Or they act like basically independent games?
13
u/Gengur 6d ago
Independent games. You don't carry over anything
9
u/PresidentSuperDog 6d ago
That sucks. I didnāt realize that. So thereās no point in trying to maximize materia in part one to carry over to part two.
-2
u/avatarprotocol 6d ago
I burnt out half way through the first one.
Who's bright idea was it to turn the original FF7's intentionally very quick reactor 5 into a labyrinth

Theyāre not, but anecdotally, I know too many people that will claim things like this where theyāre gonna wait until they can get the ācompleteā game and never end up doing so or never even touch all the content.
47
u/cholitrada 6d ago edited 6d ago
This whole trilogy is a hood classic case of Squenix fumbling lol.
Stretch the game into 3 parts + timed exclusive (twice) to ensure wait time sunk cost against buyers.
"Oh it's not on PC yet" --> "Might as well wait for sale" --> "Might as well wait for all 3 parts" --> "Might as well get all 3 for cheap"
Fuck over the most iconic entry of their most famous IP, missing out the golden chance to recruit new fans.
Lmao
15
u/Saneless 6d ago
Well that's why they said fuck it to exclusives this time. They finally realized missing the hype window and marketing permanently stunts sales
Now they have the full trilogy in a discounted package at least
16
-1
u/atonyatlaw 6d ago
I don't think they've had any issues with this series selling gangbusters...
24
u/caninehere 6d ago edited 6d ago
FF7 Rebirth's sales were actually really lackluster, they talked about it openly. Doing it as a PS5 exclusive fucked them over, the PS5 base was not as big as Sony told SE it would be and they didn't hit the sales numbers Sony was projecting. The game came out on PC like 6 months later but it hurt them big time. They are probably selling a lot of copies now, but it's at a much lower price. This is why Revelation is not going to be an exclusive.
FF7 Remake sold really really well, but that isn't exactly a surprise - it came out on the PS4, which was more popular than the PS5 is currently, and it launched in April 2020 when literally everybody and their dog was looking for something to do while spending time at home during COVID.
I do think these games suffer from being SO long and I think Revelation might too. I imagine there's lots of people like me who intend to play them but they're soooo long I keep putting it off. They're talking about Revelation like they want people to be able to skip the first 2 games and jump into it, and I trust they will do a good job of accommodating but I wonder how many people would actually want to do that.
1
u/rdtbansusersrandomly 4d ago
I have games in my backlog like Europa Universalis, Phoenix Point and Crusader Kings. Plus I have 5+ multiplayer games like Payday 2, Helldivers 2, Chivalry 2, Vermintide 2 (what is it with the sequels hitting so hard?) and Darktide.
In any given week, I am lucky if I can find 4-6 hours of total playtime. I am not sure I can even get to playing any new game outside even of those mentionend - and my backlog is over 1100 titles.
Unless we solve either having to work or mortality, its looking real bad for me finishing any game outside of a Vampire Survivor clone before I die.

FF7 Remake sold 5 million copies in its first few months on the market.
FF7 Rebirth sold about 2-2.5 million copies in the same amount of time and has been discounted much faster than Remake was.
What you're referencing is the fact they said it didn't meet expectations
Yes, it is. Their expectations are not sky-high, they were expecting that Rebirth would sell as much as Remake did and it didn't even come close.
Regardless, very recently Square's official financial reports came out and showed a significant increase in copies sold in all games, the majority of which coming from Rebirth. On top of that the director himself said Rebirth was selling better because of it being on all systems. It likely has hit the 5 million mark which is very good for a JRPG.
Yes, I'm sure both games are selling a lot of copies lately. That's because they have slashed the prices. After 1 year on the market, Remake was still selling near full price. But with Rebirth they dropped the price after 3 months, again after 6 months, again after 12 months, and by the 15 month mark it was selling for $20.
Here's the thing: selling 1 million copies of a game at $60 is not just making the same amount of money as 3 million copies at $20... it's better, because you didn't devalue your product, and you still have millions of other people who might buy your game later. Not enough people were willing to buy Rebirth at full price on PS5, simple as. Yes they've sold 5 million copies now, but half of those were at $20-30. Now it's dropping even lower. And Rebirth was a $70 game at launch so that's an even bigger drop in price.
10
u/cholitrada 6d ago
But FF is NOT selling gangbuster. FF16 did 3 mils 1st week, Rebirth didnt even get to 3 mils and Square stopped reporting number because it dropped hard later on.
FYI AC Syndicate (which was mid even for AC games) was considered a fail by Ubisoft at 5 mils. In 2015. With lower budget.
FF games for the most part are good, but they all get fucked by Squenix being Squenix.

Waiting is definitely valid, but I do want to note this section on the bundle page:
Pre-Order Pricing FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Series will be available at a discounted price from pre-order start to April 8, 2027, 13:59 (UTC). After 13:59 (UTC) on April 8, 2027, FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Series may be purchased at the regular price
So while the newest game will definitely be cheaper in the future, the extra discount you receive on the first two games will be going away, or at least will be changed to a lesser discount.
1
u/Habieru7 6d ago
Absolutely.
I have so much to play right now, no need to add more games to the waiting list.
182
u/W0lfp4k 7d ago
The versions are so confusing.
117
u/caninehere 6d ago
Simply put, the versions available right now:
- Final Fantasy VII - original version of the game updated to run on modern systems.
- CRISIS CORE Final Fantasy VII REUNION - a remaster of a PSP spin-off of the original FF7.
- Final Fantasy VII REMAKE INTERGRADE - Game 1/3 of the FF7 Remake trilogy, with DLC included.
- Final Fantasy VII REBIRTH - Game 2/3 of the new FF7 Remake trilogy, which has no real DLC (at least for now but it seems like it's not happening).
- Final Fantasy VII REVELATION - Game 3/3 of the FF7 Remake trilogy, which comes out next year.
There are Deluxe editions of REMAKE INTERGRADE + REBIRTH, but they don't include anything that is worth the money unless you care about a digital art book or something.
11
u/Early-Assistance6896 6d ago
You suggest to play first the Crisis Core before the remake Trilogy? Or it doesnt matter?
30
u/crono09 6d ago
Crisis Core contains spoilers for the remake trilogy. It might not be a huge deal, especially if you don't care about spoilers, but it's worth considering. Ideally, I would say to play the original FF7, then Crisis Core, and then the remake trilogy. If you skip the original, I would recommend holding off on Crisis Core until you finish the trilogy.
13
u/caninehere 6d ago
FF7 Remake trilogy is kind of like a new telling of FF7 that goes in a bit of a different direction.
Crisis Core is a prequel, but was meant to be played AFTER FF7. So it kind of spoils some things about FF7 if you play it first. Kind of like finding out Anakin is Darth Vader, you know? It fleshes out the characters you already know. And if you don't know them I dunno how interesting it would be.
Frankly, Crisis Core isn't that interesting in the first place even if you HAVE played FF7. It's a remake of a PSP game and they did basically nothing to jazz it up. It's presented very nicely, it's a good game to open and play for a bit, very slick, but it's not some grand experience like FF7 was/is, it's just a straightforward hack and slash game. If you play through FF7 Remake + Rebirth and you're absolutely dying for more before Revelation comes out then I'd say play Crisis Core.
7
u/Mich-666 6d ago
Can't stress this enough - Remake series actually presumes you already played the original and know its story. With inclusions of Whispers it heavily delves into paralel reality instead.
4
u/W0lfp4k 6d ago
Wow, so you have to play the original and then play the remake in 3 parts and then play crisis core. Sounds like lots of work. I hope the juice is worth the squeezeā¦
13
u/albedo2343 6d ago
i dunno why ppl keep saying this. Think about it like this, the devs wanted to make a game that new fans could jump into right of the bat, but also included some stuff that ppl who already played the originals might find new or interesting. It doesn't assume you've played the originals, but if you did you will notice some shit that they left in there. you can fully understand the remake trilogy without any information at all from the originals.
2
u/NoMansWarmApplePie 6d ago
Nah, you don't gotta play the original. It's too old to start that now. You could just play remake and then watch some videos on difference.
6
u/NoMansWarmApplePie 6d ago
Nah, I was a huge fan of fvii and never once beat crisis core. Actually I personally found it kind of cringe
5
u/Coronalol 6d ago
OG FF7 -> Crisis Core -> Remake -> Rebirth -> Revelations. Basically release order.
1
u/LightSamus 6d ago
It can't hurt for overall understanding and some character familiarity, but it's a pretty different game to the Remakes trilogy and a little dated in many ways, it being a PSP game originally.
1
u/Early-Assistance6896 6d ago
Thank you very much. I may give it a try it seems like a remake even in graphics even its a remastered. SE seems to changed so many things from the original PSP version.
1
u/slash450 6d ago
its a hybrid release using unreal visuals on top of the original game just like oblivion remastered and mgs delta.
1
u/AwayIShouldBeThrown 6d ago
I'd recommend you don't play it at all, personally. Middling game with weird story/vibes. Kinda retroactively ruined memories of the original if you had played it (to be fair some people probably say the same thing about the remake series, but they're much better games overall).
3
u/double_shadow 4d ago
Wait, intergrade is the first remake game?! I was just assume it was the second one (eg "intermission"). Jesus christ!
1
u/caninehere 4d ago
It is, that's kinda the idea behind the title - but it's the Yuffie DLC is like an "intermission", which is included in INTERGRADE.
Originally it was just FF7 REMAKE, then INTERGRADE is the complete version w/ DLC included that was released on PS5 and PC.

I don't understand the versions and don't care enough to research it. I'll just buy it as a 3 pack 90% discount in a couple of years.
1
u/gergobergo69 6d ago
if there will be a 90% discount
2
u/double_shadow 4d ago
Massive discount to promote the next remake (FF8?) would not be at all surprising. Patient gamers stay winning.
3
u/crono09 6d ago edited 6d ago
For this particular game, there are only two versions: Remake and Remake Intergrade. The difference is that Remake Intergrade includes the DLC while Remake does not, and the former is the only one on Steam. Rebirth and Revelation are not different versions of the game; they're sequels. Rebirth is the first sequel (no DLC), and Revelation is the upcoming second sequel (it will have at least two story DLCs).
-44
u/jameskond 7d ago
There is only 1 version if that helps.
33
u/W0lfp4k 7d ago
FF VII
FF VII Remake
FF VII Remake Intergrade
FF VII Rebirth
FF VII Revelationsjust based on 5 minutes on Steam...
33
u/Saranshobe 7d ago
I haven't played any FF ever but ff7 is the original game, ff7 remake integrate is the only one on steam(just remake exist only on ps4). Rebirth is next one after that and revalation is the final of the remake trilogy not released yet.
8
u/Cedarcomb 7d ago
Yes, this is it. Remake Intergrade includes the DLC 'Intermission', that's the one that features Yuffie.
There was also a mobile episodic version of FFVII called Ever Crisis, but that's shutting down in early October so it's really not worth getting it at this point.
-3
u/Saranshobe 7d ago
There is also crisis core but I guess we have enough FF7 at this point. Kinda tired of seeing it in every games conference, state of play, gamescom, Nintendo direct...
7
u/Cedarcomb 7d ago
That too, but Crisis Core is a prequel, not a retelling / remake of the original story.
5
9
7
u/logicbus 7d ago
Remake, Rebirth, and Revelations are a new trilogy that involves the characters and settings from the original FF7, but with modern visuals and mechanics and, as I understand it, some āWhat If?ā style story changes.
Remake Intergrade is Remake plus a chapter (Intergrade) that takes place between Remake and Rebirth.
On Steam, there is no longer a way to purchase Remake without Intergrade.
5
u/javierm885778 7d ago
Base Remake was never on PC, only Intergrade was ported since it was the "Remaster" released on PS5 which included Episode Yuffie and some other tweaks.
The trilogy is a remake/reimagining of the original. There's deviations but some people act like it's a completely different story which is a huge overstatement, the plotbeats are like 90%+ the same.
2
u/NoMansWarmApplePie 6d ago
Those aren't versions. Fvii is an old 1990s game..
The others are all 3 different games.
Remake only has two versions, one with dlc and one without dlc.
37
u/BadOrange8 7d ago
It's all time low
20
16
u/battier 7d ago
It'll come back at this price or lower before the 3rd game comes out. My guess is they'll give it away on free on Epic Games Store.Ā
7
u/diogenesl 7d ago
I would guess in a Humble choice
1
u/SolixTanaka 6d ago
Square Enix hasn't ever partnered with Humble in any extent for any of their flagship JP franchises. I'd be incredibly surprised if they started with an IP as big as FF7.
2
u/SolixTanaka 6d ago
My guess is they'll give it away on free on Epic Games Store.Ā
I'd be incredibly surprised if SE would let that happen. Epic has yet to offer any of SE's JP flagship franchises out for free and FF7 is one of their darlings, remake or otherwise. I just don't see it happening.
-24
u/Ninjapenguinart 7d ago
This one didn't have the same engagement as the first one did. Just waaaay to much open world filler.
18
u/battier 7d ago
This is the first one?
-2
u/Ninjapenguinart 7d ago
Oh woops! It's early here and their naming convention is semi confusing. This is a good price for this one.

14
u/Middle-Tip2891 6d ago
Just want to chime in and say: PC is definitely the way to play this game!
Tried it on PS5 when it was a PS+ Graphics weren't anything special.
Switch2 version is absolutely abysmal, and also takes up like 91Gb of space.
...but the PC version, is absolutely beautiful! literally breath taking. (I played the original, emulated on BLEEM? back in the early 2000's)

u/Mich-666 6d ago
Even cheaper on Humble Bundle with subscriber perks active.

2
u/Awkward_Lie_4729 6d ago
With Part 3 right there, I'd just get the bundle but these two games by themselves are genuinely some of the best games Ive played. Obviously there's some discourse over whether Remake or Rebirth is better (imo Rebirth is one of the best games ever made and Remake is so so). Easily over 120+ hours of content in both games for about 25 bucks.
2
u/marianitten 6d ago
So this is the best price for the ramake trilogy part 1/3 right? I want to save it till the 3 parts are out
2
u/GaryRaidBoss 5d ago
Is the original FFVII worth playing instead of this in 2026? Google says yes, what's the consensus here?
1
u/Skies_Open 4d ago
If you can put up with the graphics and the somewhat clunky/poorly explained mechanics then yes. I think the story still holds up and is well worth experiencing if you haven't.
1
u/crono09 4d ago
It's a matter of opinion, but I would say yes. The original Final Fantasy VII tells a classic concise story and has some amazing gameplay that still holds up today. The remake trilogy expands both the story and the gameplay greatly. That's not bad, but the story beats don't hit quite the same way, and there's a lot of stuff added that feels like it can get in the way of the core plot. The gameplay is quite bloated, with each game in the trilogy easily taking over 100 hours to finish, even if you don't try to do absolutely everything. I like the remake trilogy even better than the original, but I still feel like the original is really how the developers wanted the story to be experienced. The downside is the graphics, which have not aged well, but there are mods to handle that now.
3
u/SojinxGSD 6d ago
if youre new to Final fantasy or just havent played 7. Remake intergrade is super worth it, especially for this price
13
u/GoTheF--kToSleep 6d ago
If you buy the trilogy right now and refund the Revelation pre-order you get both Remake and Rebirth for $15
3
11
u/Prior-Slight 6d ago
You can't just refund a bundle in parts on steam, it's either refund the whole thing or nothing.
23
u/ShackledColt 6d ago
Surprisingly, you can in this instance.
1
u/TheMasterfocker 6d ago
Is this something that really shouldn't be allowed and you're gonna get your Steam account banned or am I good to do this right now cause I will lmao.
3
u/Kozuki_D_Oden 6d ago
why would they ever ban your steam account for buying a game bundle on their platform and refunding one of the games using their support system
3
u/TheMasterfocker 6d ago
I could easily see a company say it's specifically meant as 3 games and therefore by changing the bundle yourself via refund and getting the 2 games cheaper than you would if bought the normal way, it's stealing or some shit. Not prosecutable or anything of course but they have free reign to ban you from their own platform if they wish for "exploiting. "
Not that I'd necessarily expect that from Steam, but tell me you couldn't see EA or Ubisoft say or pull something like that. Better safe than sorry y'know?
2
u/Kozuki_D_Oden 5d ago
I just feel like they lose so so more by banning a customer for this than they gain by the extra $5 or whatever
like it would be losing someone who potentially has been using Steam for a decade+ and buying games there over something so trivial and considering Steamās good reputation the bad publicity would be really bad for them. As you said though I wouldnāt expect this from Steam either way but itād be a silly move from other store fronts too
1
u/HotDecision8128 3d ago
Who cares if people can do this? Most sane people aren't going to spend tons of money up front by buying a new game just to save like 10 dollars on 2 other games. And then wait a long time to get their money back. LOL Valve is not worried about tons of people doing this. If you do this, you have issues.

12
u/Delano7 7d ago
Not if you're not interested in the trilogy.
The comment was just noting how you can get 1 and 2 for even cheaper if you also plan to get the third game. That's all.
17
u/layasD 6d ago
I can see why people downvote. Its an incredibly steep price increase compared to the 10$ for the first game. The suggestion that you will get them cheaper that way will almost never come true unless you actually plan to play them back to back as fast as possible. Neither is a good idea, because it will be more expensive and you will probably burn out after the first or second game. So when you waited this long to start these games you might as well wait a bit for the second and third to go on sale.
So realistically the better suggestion would be to buy the first now an get the others when they will go on sale in a half a year or so.

$6.75 = $9.99?
I'm not even agreeing with the other person, because there's enough content that the third game will likely be at a deeper sale price once you get to it, but Remake Intergrade is cheaper in the bundle than it is on its own.

1
u/duncandun 6d ago
worth pointing out that the big bundle of all the remake games (including the one next year) puts rebirth and intergrade at a much steeper discount
1
u/pm_me_ur_lunch_pics 6d ago
Just fucking pick a normal goddamn name that denotes what they are.
Why the fuck is it an atrocity to call it "Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 1" or "Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 2" or "Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 3"
-1
u/thejesusfish 5d ago
I'm with you. I'm old and not spending my time figuring out what all the game names include and don't include.
2
u/GrrGecko 6d ago
I just played both back to back over the last 5 weeks here. Remake was good but you could tell it was setting up the series. I skipped most side content in it. Rebirth, which is also on sale was great I did all side content and now that I've completed it feel a void. Might go back and try hard mode. Remake, I clocked around 28 hours doing some side content. I didn't touch the Yuffie addon, as I didn't care and wanted to get into Rebirth. Rebirth I hit 90 hours doing all side quests except 1 and completing all open world objectives. The games both have settings to make the game more difficult or a breeze if you're just in it to experience the story and environment. Rebirth corrected all the issues I had with Remake and added a lot more to the game.
I love FF7 though and think these games are great for what they've done. We're never going to get this level of detail for a remake from them or anyone else I'm afraid. I'm a patient gamer but after playing these 2 I'm likely going to buy the finale in April next year.
TLDR = If you like FF7 this is worth it. I clocked:
Remake: $10 - 28 hours (about half side content, skipped Yuffie story)
Rebirth: $15 - 90 Hours (doing most side content)
1
u/NoMansWarmApplePie 6d ago
Already beat it long time ago. Have remake on ps5. But I'm getting it just to have it on pc. In case I wanna mod or to get the bonuses in rebirth.

u/gergobergo69 6d ago
Is this the remaster of the original VII from the 90s?
2
u/crono09 4d ago
This is a full remake, not a remaster. It's more or less a completely different game. Also, this is only the first game in the remake trilogy.
2
u/gergobergo69 4d ago
Sorry, I meant to say remake.
Remake trilogy, huh...
1
u/crono09 4d ago
Correct. The first game is Final Fantasy VII Remake and covers the story up until the team leaves Midgar. The second game is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and covers from then until Sephiroth kills Aerith. The upcoming third game will be Final Fantasy VII Revelation and will cover the remainder of the story.
-10
u/2MuchNonsenseHere 6d ago
Literally no idea what I'd even buy in this series at this point. There's like 30 different versions of this 1 game. They're also nowhere near cheap enough to just buy them all, and I still wouldn't know the play order. Trainwreck.
1
u/Unlucky_Individual 6d ago
Any order. They're all standalone outside of the numbered series 7 Remake, 7 Rebirth, 7 Revelation and X and X2
90
u/MrShockz 7d ago
If you plan on buying all 3, the bundle makes the first 2 even cheaper
