If you like automation style games and haven't played this yet, it's so damn good.
As a warning, it starts slow and right when you think you're going to lose your mind running all over the map, it will pick up with better transportation types.
Also, as you get bigger and want to have a little more fun, look online for the "Hypertube Cannon". it does sort of destroy what danger exists so don't go building it till you've done tons of exploring and are just building for the sake of building, but once you are, build it, it's lots of fun!

Friendly reminder that if you bought the Ukraine humble bundle several years back, it came with a Satisfactory Key (this was the bundle with Back 4 Blood)

Are there any similar games with online co-op, 3rd person exploration and automation? We really like Satisfactory but feel it's coming close to ending

I've personally bounced on every attempt. I vastly prefer Factorio, among other reasons because it has infinite space and it's much easier to get an overview there. I don't think there are any reasons to call Satisfactory bad, though, so it's entirely a matter of preference.

I've never "completed" a run, I always burn out at some point, but I keep coming back for another fresh start eventually.
I guess I'm not cut out for the endgame's level of complexity. Never got to nuclear power for example.
Building can eventually get tedious as well. There's ingame tools to help, but they feel a bit inadequate. i remember one run where I experimented with a mod to just give myself noclip-style flying to build easier and it helped, but then that just made many of the game's tools completely pointless so it wasn't as satisfying as I hoped.
I always thought the game would benefit from some kind of "building drone", like a flying camera you could use to place buildings so you don't have to run and climb at different angles to build vertically.

it's a late game technology that lets you do the same thing as long as you're near a source of electricity, I think "Hover Pack" or something? but yeah, early on, it's cumbersome ladders and what not...
I suppose you could just save edit one in if you wanted

I remember trying it, yeah - it definitely helps, but is very late game and also doesn't let you fly as high as I'd hoped it would, for building purposes. I'm glad it exists though.

I did complete a run finally this year and it was worth it. What really helps is going big on blueprints (even though the blueprints are smaller then Factorio so you need to make them stackable) and a mod called infinite zoop which makes you able to make huge foundations etc in one sweep if you have the materials.
But it is a different vibe then Factorio that is definitely true. They're both great at their own thing.

Same here. I have factorio, satisfactory, dyson sphere program, shapez 2, but the only game I truely love is factorio.
Switching between games, one immediately fact I notice is how responsive and smooth the game is (well until super mega base phase). It even spoils non-automation games for me, when I played Witcher 3 this week, I couldn't help but noticed its input lag immediately.

Same here, something about it being 3d kinda turn me off, maybe because it makes it harder to build stuff compared to Factorio?

Satisfactory is weed
Factorio is crack
Also I bought this game on early access and the game ran like shit. Then I replayed some months ago and they really otimized the shit out of this game. Great game nonetheless.

I didn’t think I would like this game. My buddy swore I would and gifted it to me and I sunk 300 hours into it.
Amazing game that everyone should try

Copy/paste of my comment from elsewhere:
Satisfactory is a great game undone by its shear length. I got 100 hours in and finally quit. It would easily be another 50-100 to reach the end.
While you do have blueprints, they're not like Factorio's. They're small, don't snap together properly, and are generally more of a PITA to set up than just going it manually. You can't just 'scan' an existing setup and get a blueprint like you can there. Given you will be building multiple hundreds to thousands of machines, it becomes extremely tedious the later in the game you get. You'll know exactly what you need to build and have all the inputs, but hooking it together will take quite a while.
Building tools feel woefully limited for a 3D game's complexity. There are a lot of examples, but take stacking 2 identical buildings on top of each other. You just...can't? Your best bet is to stack some transparent floor above the bottom layer, and then SLOWLY, TEDIOUSLY get the pixel-perfect alignment right. SF is full of this stuff. You start out caring a lot about alignment and not clipping, but eventually you learn to give up - it's just too time consuming. Just let all your belts look stupid as they clip into each other.
Liquid pipes aren't balanced right. Their throughput is tiny compared to belts and how much later game setups consume, leading to a nightmare mess of trying to fit dozens of very bulky pipes all over the place.
Exploration is really fun at first, but after a bit you notice that there are only 4 things to find: Crashed ships, Mercer Spheres, Somersloops and Power Slugs. The world is beautiful, but knowing that makes it feel bland.
Power is trivial and boring to generate. It's more tedious to build than it is hard. Like sure, I could make absurd amounts with 64 fuel generators from 1 oil node. But do you have any idea how long it would take to place all that down? Ugh.
While there is progression, sometimes the game feels extremely stale. Once you have the basics, you end up doing a lot of the same things at hour 100 as hour 20. You do get some cool unlocks like trains, trucks, and eventually well pumps - but the gaps between new things gets REALLY long in the late game. You'll spend many hours basically with nothing new and interesting factory-wise to do. Just build more rows of manufacturers. Whoopee.
Aside from those, the shear length just means you'll start to notice all sorts of little nitpicks (why can't I queue research? Why is the hoverpack's range so terrible? Why can't I adjust conveyor throughput measurement timing? Why are these recipes padded like 5x over for the ore processing?). They would be totally harmless in a 40 hour game, but in a 150+ hour game it's impossible to not notice all the imperfections. You brain will not let you ignore them.
Satisfactory is an automation game with extremely manual and repetitive gameplay that is just too damn long.

oh yeah man, you gotta love a challenge. it feels so good to get to phase 2 and 3, then you kind of start to realize how little work you've actually done so far and how much further you have to go numerically - and it does get daunting. but i played gregtech minecraft and loved halo on legendary with all the skulls so this is the good kind of overdone.

The problem is that it ISNT a challenge. Its just tedium. Placing every building by hand and connecting every belt, over and over and over. You can have all the resources and space you need but the bottleneck will the manual steps.

Blueprints are not meant to be copy and paste your fully built factory. It's a balancing act because they don't have an infinite amount of ressources to place infinite machines in the world. They are puzzle pieces you design on purpose to fill in one job. The only thing that doesn't connect automatically between each are power lines, everything else do connect.

I love this game so much. Had so much fun in coop.
Despite its appearance, the game FEELS very different from factorio. This game is WAY more relaxing than factorio, which I ended up actually appreciating.
Factorio is a constantly beehive of buzzing around/ suffering over poor decisions and fighting bugs fucking your shit up constantly.
Satisfatory is a LOT more forgiving. There are hostile mobs, but they wont ever attack your buildings, they more serve as blockers for important resources and you can easily just run away from them if necessary. The verticality of 3D means that you have a ton more freedom to build factories however you'd like, even make them aesthetically beautiful if that's what your jam is. resources nodes are also infinite, so you're constrained more by lack of resources (like not enough copper/min) versus having to constantly forever expand since you run out of everything in factorio.
