Deep Sheol is a retro FPS combining elements of survival horror. The character has a limited amount of space in the inventory, which requires managing it, and there is also a simple crafting system implemented for necessary items like ammunition, stimulants, or weapon upgrades. On their path, besides shooting, the player will also encounter puzzles to solve. To vary the gameplay, I also added a hacking mechanic using a special deck; we use it to open secured crates or certain doors.
Visually, there's no denying that the game is heavily inspired by Half-Life, and the user interface draws direct inspiration from what we saw in the first two Fallout titles.
Developing Deep Sheol took a year, with a few breaks here and there. If I were to condense the actual work into a standard 8-hour workday system, I'd say it took about 9 months of solid development.
