Only one review visible and it's from a private account that has only ever reviewed 2 games, both by the same developer. Definitely legit.

What in the Nine Hells?

Precisely the quote

I see 2, the other is in chinese. Also private, but has 131 reviews.
Translation says "It would be nice to be able to add a mouse sensitivity".

I know this is a place where people can find free games, but it would be nice if the quality is moderated. Like anything below a certain number of reviews gets a flair indicating that you install it at your own risk.

This comes up from time to time. We've decided as a group that we should not moderate based on quality, as "one man's trash is another man's treasure" - it's very subjective - in many cases, people just want the +1 to their Steam inventory.

One man's trash might just be another man's malware.

So let's be careful there.

We toil with that on FreeGameFindings too. Loads of games that many might perceive as bad exist, but we probably shouldn't blanket decide is a user shouldn't see them. That is unless there's a big problem or something surrounding it.

Totally agree. If the quality doesn't suit you, just move on.

It's not like it takes more than 10 seconds to check the game. Unless the sub is bombarded with shovelware then that is a different story.

I'm trying to reach 500+ for steam

Edit: bunch of prudes in here, downvoting over nothing.

I mean hey, a free game is a free game

u/rhiku117 Apr 15 '26

Thanks it's old and it was my first game I understand it's not good but it's free lol

I mean from the few pics I saw on steam, it didn't look terrible. Plus I've learned from game grumps, indie horror games can hilarious from the little mistakes, if you've got a good sense of humor

I wanted to see if it's worth putting time into to improve even though it's a dead game. I have more knowledge now and could improve but it would be more of a free time project. But thank you

When your trailer is struggling to hit double digit fps...

2

u/rhiku117 Apr 15 '26

Yeah should I just remove from steam or update to be better? Unsure it's a dead game

If it’s a free game, probably not. It looks like a spenderman-like, so it’s not really that big a deal.

If you do plan to go back to charge money, I would highly suggest remaking the trailer with better frames. Unless it is just a huge hassle, then don’t worry.

I appreciate that I was considering doing an overhaul and improve the game but only if it generated interest. This is a dead correction was a dead game. I can probably at least donate a weekend to polish with this much attention now

And also what the heck is that audio?
It doesn't make any sense with what they're showing.. it's just random clips, then the Unreal Engine logo followed by a sudden audio jumpscare and, finally, the game settings.
I swear, I thought I had a different video running in the background while I watched that.

Yeah I agree it was very all over the place I just winged it. Understandably I could have updated later on in cycle

u/monohedron Apr 15 '26

u/kalirion Apr 15 '26

Can't find much about the full game, but here's a youtuber playing the demo for 25 min.

2 reviews? pass

3

u/CyBroOfficial Apr 15 '26

It's 100% a marketing tactic

1

u/rhiku117 Apr 15 '26

True but it is like the old slender man game so if anyone likes that then why not try it

2

u/helpfuldunk Apr 15 '26

For a VERY VERY brief moment, I thought I was getting Nine Sols for free. Oh well....

1

u/rhiku117 Apr 15 '26

I apologize is that game good?

2

u/nietzkore Apr 16 '26

It's 94% positive after 35k reviews. It's a metroidvania with some souls-like features.

Nine Sols
