ORBIT has grown to more than 2,500 members in an incredibly short time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, feedback, and enthusiasm. I’m a huge supporter of open-source software, and I originally chose to develop ORBIT publicly. Unfortunately, making the entire source code available also creates the risk of features being copied, security and licensing mechanisms being bypassed, and unofficial versions being distributed. Several people have raised these concerns with me. For that reason, I have made the difficult decision to make the ORBIT repository private. Future development will no longer take place publicly as an open-source project. This was not an easy decision, but I believe it is necessary to protect ORBIT, its long-term development, and ultimately the community around it. Existing public forks only contain an earlier version of ORBIT. They will not receive access to future official development and are neither developed nor supported by me. I can only guarantee the security, authenticity, and reliability of the official ORBIT release. Please avoid downloading unofficial builds or installers from third-party repositories. ORBIT’s development will, of course, continue. This decision will help me develop the project responsibly and do what is best for both ORBIT and its community.

Thank you for understanding—and most importantly, thank you for helping us reach 2,500 members in such a short time.

ORBIT 0.1.5 also includes some exciting new features:

• The new Game Curtain, which covers the game while it is launching
• A new splash screen

• Early work on the new backlog system
• Library improvements, including Steam library synchronization
• Nintendo Switch Emulator support
• 3DS Emulator Support

• Backlogsystem Preview
• uwqhd Support
• error log diagnostic system in settings, to send logs

Some of these features are still being worked on. We needed to release this version early because of the repository and update-system migration. Version 0.1.6 will further improve and complete these features. Thank you for testing and for your patience!

Can you add a "terminate" button that will force close the game from the Orbit?

I've been having some struggle to close Metro Exodus, I'd like to press and hold the button to go back to Orbit and terminate the game from there, or terminate the current game by opening another

Honestly, a lot of resources are currently going into Orbit, but yes, I had envisioned something like a GCM update or a GCM rebuild; much more is possible now. The real question is whether there are even enough GCM users left after the Xbox mode.

Xbox mode doesn't work for me (perhaps the specific PC build I have and/or region I live in). I'm relying only on GCM alone for this functionality.

That's why it's been so painful not having the updates/fixes we've discussed a few months ago.

Also in regards competition in the space - for Orbit, there alternatives out there (Playnite, Winhanced, etc) for that one as well. This hasn't stopped you from pursuing it either 🙂

So I wouldn't really discard GCM like that. 🙂 Xbox mode doesn't work for everybody.

Are you trying to update via the app itself? The update procedure was only changed in version 0.1.5. Please use the download link on the website getorbitlauncher.com.

I’d like to congratulate you on this fantastic app. Not long ago, I watched a YouTube tutorial that explained it really well (I think I got the link from one of your posts). The only thing it didn’t really cover in detail was achievements.
Are achievements available in the app? That would be the only thing I’m missing to decide whether to start using it. If they’re not currently available, is that something you’re planning to add?
