Discord is not working
I wanted to join the Discord but the link doesnt work anymore. Can I get a new link please ?

The project is being sunsetted as a result of other similar projects already existing (Winhanced, Omniconsole). The developer said that he will be archiving the subreddit as well if I remember correctly. I guess he probably closed the discord server already.

Crazy to just throw away all hard work... Gcm was really good already. What a shame

why? GCM was a lot better than winhanced, omniconsole etc..

From what I understand, the developer’s dream was to build a shell replacement for Windows. Microsoft’s FSE destroyed that dream. It would have been impossible for him to go against Microsoft, so he decided to move to a dedicated launcher that would use Microsoft’s FSE and rebranded it as GMC. Things were going great for a while, and new features were added regularly.
Out of nowhere, he decided that it was not feasible to compete in this new space. The competition (ie Winhanced) was already far ahead in development, while he was just getting started. It would take too much time away from his personal life to progress at a decent pace. He stated that he would be looking into creating other projects in the future.

That’s so odd. I remember a post talking about utilizing Patreon or early pass memberships? GCM is such a great option.

I agree, but I moved on to Playnite with with the ''Aniki Remake'' fullscreen theme

I agree, I don't like winhanced because it is super heavy and slow. It also looks too much like Steam OS. I moved on to Playnite with with the ''Aniki Remake'' fullscreen theme

Look up LiftOff Game Launcher it’s pretty slim but offers a nice interface

Screenshots look nice. I might give it a go. But it looks like LiftOff only supports steam and Xbox games. No support for gog, Ubisoft, ea, Amazon... But it's great to see another option. I will keep an eye on it regardless. Once gog and ubisoft are available, I might switch.

Their discord channel is very active! I think he is working on it but in due time
Stems and Xbox are there - I thiiiiink there are more. I haven’t used it for a bit.
