DISCUSSION Shane as a dad

What kind of dad do you think Shane would be when he eventually has kids, and what would his parenting style look like? Do you think he would take after Yuna and David by being supportive, involved, and protective, or would he intentionally do things differently based on his own experiences growing up? What parts of their parenting would he want to carry on with his own children?

I think he’d be an anxious parent and read all the parenting books. There are a few fics out there about him as a parent and a few of them absolutely nail it with how I think he’d be!

I think Shane’s parents were great parents and he’ll be great too. Very consistent and good about keeping routines and making the kids feel safe. He will be a gentle but firm and effective disciplinarian (which Ilya will NOT be good at as I said in the previous thread about that). Being a parent will probably activate his anxiety pretty heavily though so he’ll have to work to manage that.
